Yes today most citizens over the age of 18 have the right to vote. It was a hard won privilege, not to be tossed away lightly

    I absolutely agree with you.

    Please do me a favour.

Since when did a candidate last stand for parliament that had lived his life in the area that he was representing?

Ours has lived and worked in this area for 30 years.

It would be good if they had to live in their own consituency and their children had to go to school in that area too.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

I think all MP's should be self employed, think of the money that would save on their expenses and also from them fiddling expenses and making bad judgments for the country.

That would be a good start.

Lots of them live hundreds of miles away and only show their faces when they have to. They have no idea what so ever what it's really like to live in the constituency they are supposedly representing.
  • Locums are Dr's too - the issue seems to be why locums won't take a permanent post = perhaps it's money they clearly have dr's in the area just not ones wanting to take a perm position??

Locums are fine but it is a pain to have to go through history each time we visit.

I believe Locums get paid much more, which is why they would prefer to stay as Locums.

I've actually found that the locums at my dd's surgery are more clued up on rarer conditions than the GPs are. Either that or we've always been lucky with the locums we've seen there :)

No more than you have to do with your GP anyway.

Our GP practice is quite a big one. My husband seldom makes a 'future' appointment which would allow him to see the doctor of his choice. Instead he usually sees whoever is doing the emergency appointments. Think in a year he has only seen the same doctor twice so we always have to bring whoever he is seeing up to speed with his illnesses and current treatments. Only takes a minute or so, certainly quicker than the doctor trawling through the notes on the computer. The days of the friendly family GP who delivered you and knows all your medical history are long gone

I expect it could be different if he had MH problems rather than purely physical ones.
