Not posted much - been busy today. I've spent hours in the Garden sorting it our for Winter, grass is chopped, bushes are returned to a state of normality, conifers gone, pyracantha gone, borders neatened up, veg in pots composted.

Also made a cake, well its still cooking and it was a half done one bought reduced but anyway, cake made :]

School run to do, DH is snoozing on the sofa, he had to call in sick today cos he's got probs with Kidney Stones, went to the Doc this morning who didn't really want to give him tabs for pain relief but DH insisted and has got some!

Also cleared a hotspot in the Kitchen :]
Need to sort out finances and see where the money has gone, cos gone it has and I've no idea where :[[

Hugs for those who need it, hope those who are down or poorly start to feel better

    Ah right.. posh peepot! lol..

I wouldn't call it 'posh' - it's B&Q's finest - but I did wonder when we bought it....... OH didn't call it posh - just bogstandard....

Water going into cistern and straight down the loo... sounds like we've left a tap on... Thank god we're not on a meter!

we have British Gas insurance for CH/electrics and plumbing - so they're coming tomorrow after 12pm. Until the it's regular bucket filling...

    Hi All

Just home from work, that's me done till 22nd yippee. So, although kids rooms are tidy, I'm not stripping beds, cos I cba today, and will catch up with laundry tomorrow. :D

Been v busy at paid stuff wrapping up for my week off, and setting the boss up with some automated stuff so he won't notice I'm not there. Very pleased with what I've achieved.

Am going to consult my "master list" of jobs to complete. I know there's a few garden bits to do before winter, and check over the car.

Last night I tried to do one of my extras and clean the bathroom light fitting. I took the glass cover off and promptly dropped it, now in 500 pieces. Will try find the same to just replace the glass, as it's a wired in one. Failing that I'll have to get someone in, as I'm not messing about with electrickery...

  • Hi there.

I haven't had chance to post for a couple of days (where does the time go?) but have been flying - and working!

Place is not too bad, washing & cleaning up to date, but today was the first time (after 3 dry/sunny days) we were able to get down the garden and assess the damage and start to clean up the summerhouse after the flooding. What a mess, it's quite heart-breaking, as it was lovely (after a lot of hard work, painting etc); now the floor is floating, curtains manky etc etc. Still, it isn't our home, and I know there are lots of people with their houses ruined, so not worth getting upset over, it will clean up.

But, have rescued, and washed, other curtains and cushions and generally shifted wet stuff that would otherwise soon be rotting and smelling.

Helped a neighbour a bit with dogs, and babysat for a friend who needed someone at short notice, so am weary now! Two other bits to do then a cuppa and a computer game - that will relax me!!

Good vibes to everyone, I've had a little read through, so good wishes to Dancemum's OH and anyone feeling poorly or low. I'm sad today - someone at work, although not officially doing anything 'wrong', just has no compassion or kind words for any of the residents - and was so dismissive of them yesterday it's made me think. What a future - we are all getting older - I want a bit of kindness in my old age. What is going to happen with this (including me) aging population?

Sorry for sounding grim, I do try and be positive. R
