    Hi CandyC

Those vouchers must be a huge help. I'm not jealous, really...

I tend to just give homemade stuff to my mum as she is the only one who appreciates any crafts at all. But as a dressmaker I tend to make her something to wear. She makes me stuff too which is really nice. I'm also going to make the little one a toy or two, something personal he can keep as a treasure. I do also make my brother chocolates or sweeties as part of his gift.

My husbands family wouldn't appreciate anything handmade even if I made them a leather handbag or belt (I teach leatherwork) and it would cost a lot to do something that extravagant anyway just for them to complain that they hadn't got a shop brought gift, so hubby buys for his family and I buy for mine.

I like the sound of your mums practical presents, they are always great. I once got a trolley jack for changing tyres from my brother. It really ended the what did you get conversation at work when we returned.:rotfl:

I never think of homemade toiletries, that may be a good idea, thanks.:D I have some gardening gloves for mum, perhaps homemade hands rub, hand cream and some sort of bath soak would make a nice hamper.

I really should go and update my diary as it's not been touched for weeks but other people's are so much more interesting.

  • Oops I've had a slip up today and I feel terrible for it :(

I used by credit card to pay for a meal! OK it was only £11.50 but I still feel really bad. I have promised myself as soon as I get paid it will go straight back into the credit card. In a way I'm glad it makes me feel bad, hopefully it will stop me doing it again!

A positive for the day though is that my DD for the car loan came out today taking my loan down to £3125.64 :D

I'm back in work tomorrow and for the rest of the week now until Friday so hopefully will have a few NSDs to add to my signature and no more naughty days like today!

Hope everyone's having a good weekend!

  • Oops! Not another NSD today :( However I did have a NSD yesterday, so that's another one to add to my signature. I am determined to get more NSD's in November!

Serious question, I have a pair of shoes just sitting in my wardrobe. Now I've worn them twice... and paid 260.00 for them :o This was back when I spent anything on anything. They are slightly marked, but should look quite good when cleaned up. Shall I put these on eBay? Even if I get 10.00 I think I would be happy. It's pointless me keeping them as I am not going to wear them again, however I cannot bring myself to take them to the charity shop.

I'm in work til 11pm all this week so hopefully will be able to add a few more NSDs to my signature soon :D

Payday soon for me so should see my signature balances go down :T Love seeing this happen as it makes me feel like I am actually getting somewhere.

    Hope everyone is doing OK.

If they're a good make (which they will be at £260 :) ) then I'd put them on, maybe put a reserve on them though cos I had a pair of shoes go for 99p last month!! But they were only Miss Selfridge cheapies, I wasn't impressed but would think they'd make more being designer.

Payday for me soon too yippee! (23rd) I can't blimmin' wait!

  • Hi Scuff,

They're Kurt Geigers. I loved them when I bought them (about 4 years ago!) but they are just dead hard to match with outfits. I might put a reserve of like £10 on them maybe?

Aagh I can't wait to get my Christmas shopping done this payday so that I don't have to stress over it and can just focus on paying off the debts!

Get them on, people are suckers for a pair of KGs! Maybe have a look around see how much they're going for first? If I were you though I'd wait til the next free listing weekend, then start them off at a higher price. Gives you time to investigate - I'm not sure whether people are a bit funny about shoes?

I'm planning on buying most of my Christmas pressies out of vouchers too - We have to have 700,000 hours injury free at work to get them, so we're due payout in November. Providing no-one gets hurt before then, we're sorted! I think it's an awesome way to get Christmas presents, then real money can get rid of debts at same time!

  • Oops naughty me I haven't posted for a few days :o

So as far as NSDs go, I'm not doing very well. I have one more to add to my signature. However yesterday I bought Christmas presents & Wednesday I bought lunch for work! I can't see this weekend being spend free either. We are going 'Glamping' with some friends. It's only £20.00 each for 2 nights and I'm only taking another £20.00 with me for spends as we will be taking food with us so shouldn't really need to buy anything! It's nice to just have a little break sometimes... even though I know this money really should be going on debts :)

I am feeling very proud of myself though as I have bought most of my Christmas gifts for £64.00 :T This is amazing for me! I only have 3 more people to buy for, and most of these gifts can be bought with my vouchers from work so hopefully this should be very low spend too. This year I might actually be prepared for Christmas for a change.

Hope everyone has a brilliant weekend!

P.S. Scuff - I have put my shoes on eBay. Not sure how well they will do though, lots of people have viewed but not watchers and no bidders... fingers crossed this will change!
  • I'm back!

Had a lovely little weekend away, and only spent £40.00!:j The weather was nice too for a change, especially as summer has been and gone.

Came home to some bad news... my bunny had died. She was my first rabbit and I had only had her just over a year. She was also part of my username, Cupcake. It was so sudden as Friday she was fine, Sunday she had gone. So I took her to my vets to have her cremated so that I can get her back and scatter her. Her passing meant by younger bunny was then left on his own, so I have just bought a replacement bunny to keep him company. These are expenses I didn't want or need, but fortunately I haven't had to use credit to cover it. For once I have had money available. It's so heartbreaking when you lose a pet :(

This all means the balances won't be reducing much this month, but hey ho what more can you do. Atleast they haven't gone up. I will really need to be careful with the pennies now though!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.
