Well done on reducing your DFD by three months. :jI'm sure being debt free will beat a holiday anytime.:T1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Thanks guys!
I'm hoping with my pay increase that I will be able to knock another 3 months off it. It's quite sad how excited I am to be able to see my DFD get closer and closer haha.
I love being able to talk to all the lovely people on here and get great support so thankyou!

I love any little bits of advice anyone can provide as I do need it!
Welcome!
Yeh I know my phone is high
as previously mentioned I recently reduced it by £10.00. So I'm hoping that if I continue not using the data, texts & minutes I'm paying for then hopefully they will let me reduce it again soon and then when I renew my contract I'm going to shop around! When your young £40/£50 doesn't even seem much, how does this work out when you don't earn much as a teenager haha!
I have no idea either but know exactly what you're saying! I got mine down from £30 a month to £10.50 a month - and thats with more minutes!! I had the bonus of not needing (nor wanting!) a new phone so went for sim only contract.I've tried the DIY hair... let's just say I will never make it in the hairdressing industry
Numerous occasions I've tried but never have much luck and end up running back to the hairdressers for help hehe.
:rotfl:I am glad you mentioned the holiday... this is one I've been mulling over since the SOA. The thought of not going away is abit
but then the thought of being debt free is
Sure, once you're debt free you can save for the holiday of a lifetime - guilt free!!
So I've just had a play with the snowball calculator, and by using that £75.00 a month to throw at debts along with my pay increase I will knock 6 months off my DFD!!
:j That is fantastic! Nice work
The beauty is my nails... I know I really shouldn't but it's one luxury I miss too much :P Typical girl!!
Same as applies to diets - there is NO point in depriving yourself as you'll only crave the more. If that's your 'treat' then enjoy it
I'm going to have a look at the link you have just sent me. I sooo need encouragement with the DFDs, I really didnt realise that I spend money virtually everyday without thinking about. It's only since consciously thinking about it to update my diary that I've realised!
It really has made me think and I'm determined to get 10 NSDs in my first month! Sign up asap!!!
Thankyou so much for your comments, you really don't realise how happy you have made me mentioning the holiday. 6 months of my DFD is really amazing! It's something quite obvious, but I think I just needed an outside party to give me the push. Thankyou
That's what we're here for

Naughty me! Haven't checked my diary for 2 days!
Had a NSD yesterday and today woop
It's improving. Unfortunately none of my debt balances have changed, however my car finance goes out tomorrow so I will be able to knock the figure down slightly tomorrow! Yay!
This is the first time ever I have had money left in my account before the next pay day, its only £6.00 but hey that's better than normal. What do with that £6? I know I should pay it off a debt, so think I will pay it off my credit card.
Had some really great news in work today, I have won £150.00 of vouchers! These will really help with Christmas presents, I just need to decide what I am going to buy everyone. I am awful at ideas and it's even harder when you are trying to do everything as cheap as possible. So any input there would be helpful
Hope everyones OK!

Ok I know it's early! But this year I just want to get it all sorted early so that I'm not stressing over it last minute. I want to be completely organised. So I have had a good hard think about what to do for people without spending money I just haven't got.- Mum - Headboard & Coat (I know this sounds boring, but she likes practical presents. The headboard she has asked for specifically, she just mentioned that she needs a new coat)
- BoyF - Driving experience (Will be the only chance he will probably ever get to drive a super car
) - Nan & Grandad - Bottle of homemade sloe gin in a vintage bottle with vintage label. Also going to buy a couple of gin glasses & some glass paint and make them personal. All of this will be in a pretty box.
- Friends - Same as above. Said friends are a couple so that makes it easier.
- Boyfs Mum - Homemade bathsalts, pyjamas & the new twiglight DVD (if it is out!) all in a pretty pink package
- Boyfs Dad - Retro Sweets Hamper & beer (I know this sounds boring but he LOVES sweets!)
- Boyfs Brother - Everton hamper (as much as the above loves sweets, he loves Everton)
I want to start all of the above as soon as possible so that I can get sorted!

Hi Candy
They sound like lovely presents, especially the home made ones. It's so nice to receive something which has had love put into during the making.
I started mine a few months ago but have come to a grinding halt this month. Flipping cars and water bills. but so far I'm managing to stick to a budget and will hopefully finish after the next payday.
Have you set yourself a strict budget or do you get a bit overexcited buying gifts? I love sending gifts to other.:D:beer::o1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Hey Parsniphead,
I thought I was an eager beaver starting now, but you're more eager than me :P
I haven't got a budget exactly, just trying to do everything as cheap as possible. That sounds like I am being really mean, but it's not that it's just I want to do it without putting myself in a worse situation moneywise so that I can enjoy Christmas and not stress over it.
Oh no, I know exactly how you feel with car expenses! They come at the worst time. I hope it's nothing too bad
Do you think I am best setting a budget or just stick with what I am doing? I've never done Christmas like this before, I usually end up spending silly amounts. I'm hoping to get alot of the bits from eBay etc & shops such as B&M, Home Bargains etc. where ever I can find for the best prices really.

Budgets are a good idea I suppose but I never manage to stick to it when it comes to Christmas. Don't get me wrong I don't go wild but just like to treat loved ones.
I'm all for a bargain, if you can get them go for it. It's the thought isn't it?
I saw someone once returning a gift to boots which the giver must have brought in the January sales earlier that year. She was creating a right fuss and said she wanted a refund or exchange for the original full price. She was moaning to the assistant that she couldn't believe that they had brought her something from the sales, she was disgusted with them. I know I shouldn't have but I had to....... I went up to her and said there was no point in them spending a lot because she obviously wouldn't appreciate it and return it anyway.:D:rotfl:
I love home made presents, it's lovely to have something unique.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

I think I may look around for prices so I have a rough estimate as to what I will be looking to spend. I am hoping to use the £150 vouchers I have won in work to cover alot of it so that will help me out loads. I only ever used to buy for my Mum, Nan & Gdad. But that list has doubled since getting with the boyfriend

I hope that woman wasn't a relative of mine haha! How ignorant of her, obviously didn't realise Christmas isn't about how much money someone spent on you. Don't get me wrong I would love to be able to spend £100's on each person, but it's just not possible while I'm working away at these debts.
Well I'm hoping everyone will appreciate my little home made hampers. I'm only giving novelty gifts which can be enjoyed, atleast you know they are going to like them then and not fuss that you have wasted money on something they didn't want/need.
What do you generally make when going for homemade?
