Halifax Junior ISA - Cannot View Online

I just rang Halifax to find out why my daughter's newly opened Junior ISA was not showing up next to my own online ISA on their website, as suggested by the lady who we opened it with. Apparently, the junior ISA has been pulled from online views for security and Data Protection issues. :rotfl::rotfl: Must protect our 2 month old baby's data from her parents! :rotfl:

When people run out of logical and convincing answers, they hide behind security and Data Protection.
How are they suggesting you manage your baby's ISA?0 -
In branch (the nearest being a 14 mile round trip). Apparently we should also get monthly statements.0

They advertise it as branch only, but it does say "view online".Bear in mind
Manage your money in branch only, view online

Yes, we were told we could do when we opened it, but the guy on the phone said it's recently been taken from the online view, for the ridiculous reasons above. I might try again tomorrow and see if I get someone different. I don't like the idea of paying money into an account that I never get to see.0

While I agree that the online service should be provided, bank accounts have operated effectively without the Internet for centuries.
Don't get too hung up on it.
True, but two key problems with that:
1) Due to internet banking, lots of branches have closed, to the extent that it is a 14 mile round trip to go to my nearest Halifax despite living in a major city. THe nearest was previously within 2 miles.
2) In the old days, if I paid some money into an account it would be up to the cashier to get it right. If they made a mistake, it was their fault. Now, if I pay from my bank online into this account, I could accidentally be paying into some random person's account and it would be my fault and responsibility. I will only find out every so often when a statement comes out.
I can't believe any accounts cannot be managed online nowadays and Halifax's online offering is one of the poorer ones, e.g. I've recently had to change address a couple of times, and most banks allow you to do this from the online account, but Halifax insists on printing off a form and sending it through the post to them for them to manually update. As far as I can see, it would be much more difficult for a fraudster to crack my banking login and change my address than to post a generic form off with a forged signature. Other banks allowed me to do it online and notified me by post, email and text to be sure.0 -

Make a minimum amount "test payment" (£1 or less ) to make sure your Faster Payment reaches the intended account, before you transfer any larger amounts.
Payments arrive instantly more often than not, so you will be able to confirm the correct setup in just about no time.0 -

Yes, this is what I usually do and is the reason I made the point - I can't do this when the only means of checking my balance is a 14 mile round trip to a bank with limited opening hours, or waiting up to a month for a statement!0
