::) you do realise that the correct name for the class of drives that encompass CD, DVD and Blu Ray IS optical drive, yes? It's not something apple invented.

Well okay I forgot that part. :rotfl:

Still sounds poncy though, and definitely not worth £130 to replace. :p

Still not as bad as the "super drive" that many manufacturers call their drives... no idea what's so super about them.

Because if you follow the arrows they send you on a stupidly circuitous route before forcing you to use an exit you didn't want to use.

That's rule number 2, if you want to get out of the Trafford Centre car parks before you pass another birthday, and/or facing in the general direction of where you want to go, don't follow the arrows.
    I disagree.

I followed the arrows. I could've just skipped through like other fools & likely caused someone to swerve or hard brake, but i followed the arrows. It added perhaps an extra 30 seconds onto my journey. I'll never get those seconds back, but such is life.

Ditto about not following the arrows, they are advisory and designed to keep traffic flowing in the way the TC want them to, which is not always the quickest/shortest route to exit.

Like going to the supermarket, why go all the way around the car park when you are right next to the exit.
Is it not possible that they're designed with safety in mind?

From your reply you strike me as one of those who parks at the end of parking bays - you know the sort, where the parking bays are rowed up & the car park is full, so you always get that 1 person who parks right at the end of the row of bays in a spot that ISN'T a parking space, but they create one anyway for themselves, but by doing so they make it difficult or impossible for the car near them to get out, but it's ok, because THEY got parked.
Not only is it ok for that reason - it's ok because there's no signs saying you can't do that, just like at the trafford centre, there's no signs saying you can't go against the arrows, so that's ok isn't it.

In fact, there's no sign saying you can't park your car right in front of the escalators so when you get out, you can be super lazy & immediately step foot on the escalator. Never mind that you're now blocking the escalator coming down into the car park & people will have to vault your bonnet to get off ...... there's no official sign, so therefore it's ok.

Speaking of being right next to the exit - at the gym i go to, there is a spot next to the exit. If you follow the arrows you go all around the car park & out, but you do so safely.
If however, you just exit simply because you're near it (as you're saying people should do), then you're driving against the traffic coming into the car park, there's no way around it.
I saw some fool do this one day & nearly drove head first into a vehicle entering the car park, just for the sake of saving a few extra seconds.
    What's the rush in life?

This is the stupid bit. The 2 or 3 times I've been in an Apple store (buying wife's iPad) they all had earpieces and radios or phones - so even if she had to stay with her table, she should have been able to say "One moment sir" and call for an iPhone person to come over and deal with it.

This is my experience whenever I've been in an Apple Store, even when it's heaving on a Saturday.

They always call someone else over the radio to come help if they are busy, it's strange they didn't do it for the OP.
