    It's sad, but so many people think that owning a car means parking laws do not apply to them. They they whine when they get fined.

    Of course, it's not like they actually fix computers and phones there. That'd be daft! Who would hear of a person fixing a [STRIKE]car[/STRIKE] phone/laptop and thus being a genius.

    Apple stores are apple stores. It's how they work, and they work pretty well, it's not like they don't sell stuff in it. The thing is people are pretty shaded when it comes to what they expect in stores, and the apple store does not conform, so it's almost like panic and run, or just sit around confused. It's not hard to get. There's a greeter on the door who will answer queries, or send you around to where you need to get. Then just like queueing you find someone to help you. They leave shiny toys around for you to play with in the mean time too.

    It's bringing online into offline, booking, buying, and just collecting in store.

    I was with my sister and she was trying to pay for a £35 cable to connect her iPad to her telly. Yes, that wasn't a misprint, it was £35.

    After approaching three different members of staff and proffering her credit card and being told they couldn't take her money, she dumped the cable and we walked out.

    This was their flagship store in Regent Street, London.

    I'm amazed they make any money.

    ::) you do realise that the correct name for the class of drives that encompass CD, DVD and Blu Ray IS optical drive, yes? It's not something apple invented.

    Sadly for you, both clamping and towing are now illegal.

    I had a similar experience with John Lewis in Nottingham when trying to buy an Ipad3. It is like they dont want your money OR they know you want the Apple item a lot so you'll put up with being treated badly.
    Don't grow up. Its a trap!

    This is the stupid bit. The 2 or 3 times I've been in an Apple store (buying wife's iPad) they all had earpieces and radios or phones - so even if she had to stay with her table, she should have been able to say "One moment sir" and call for an iPhone person to come over and deal with it.

    One way systems in car parks - well, in the new Westfield Stratford on Saturday it was designed so that on the way up - you go round the houses to pass the possible spaces and on the way down you take the shortest route to the exit. Which is the obvious way to design it isn't it? Didn't stop some wannabe WAG in a Range Rover going the wrong way and then expecting 3 people to back up for her because she couldn't a) see signs or b) drive her oversized toy.
    I need to think of something new here...

    When I was at Uni a few years ago I had an issue with my MacBook. I went into the Apple store in the Trafford Center on the off chance they could help. It was a weekday afternoon and I hadn't made a reservation. The assistant fitted me in there and then. I explained the issue, and explained that as I needed the machine for Uni I couldn't leave it for any length of time. He told me that usually it took up to a week but leave it with him for an hour.

    I'd barely finished my coffee in the food court when Apple called and told me to come up and collect my fixed machine. Half an hour. No charge (and it was 6 months out of warranty).

    From past experience with both the Trafford and Bullring stores I can't fault them.
