Change the title of a thread????

How can i change the title of a thread, I wrote on and noticed a mistake went to edit and altered the title but it did not change the main title as displayed in the list of topics in the forum?

Only the Board Guide of the board your thread is posted on can do that. I'm sure if you PM the Board Guide they will be happy to do it for you.

Just wondering if there's a particular reason why a thread starter can't edit the main thread title? Most other forums I visit don't seem to have this restriction. It would be very handy to change thread titles when posting in the shopping forums, for example, if I post a bargain and that particular offer has changed or has gone out of stock it would be great if I could edit the title without having to PM a board guide.

I think you can chage the title of a thread shortly after it's created But after a certain time it becomes permanent

Yeah I think that's to allow for correction of typos, but I don't understand why we can't change the titles after that initial period.
