I hate captcha's on download sites, impossible to read with my eyes, coupled with links everywhere pretending to be the thing you're after. Almost makes you want to pay for it.

Panasonic Viera TVs. Where do I start? Ridiculous really as they haven't given much thought about the menu design and user experience.

The menus are in the middle of the screen and sometimes you have to perform certain functions and you have to wait and wait and wait. Why not move the menu searching for an Internet connection (for example) to the bottom while the viewer can at least watch TV. Just common sense but it never occurred to these people that make TVs for a living!

The remote is horrible and clunky. The menu system isn't great generally. Hardly any software updates so it doesnt seem like they can be bothered to improve the system.

In my experience I find panasonics to be the nicest to use :S.

The menus are on the left with the options clearly displayed on the right...I'd find it awkward to use a tv if the menus were hidden out of view when I wanted to use them.

I just started up viera connect and got a software update, but I quite like how it keeps the tv picture visible in the middle while navigating the apps. I find it preferable to sony and samsung's interfaces.

What features do you find slow? Because my TV and all the ones I mess about with at work are much quicker than the overly ambitious samsung ES8000s. I even prefer the panny remote, but I must admit the new remote isn't a patch on the old remote. This one feels like it was designed for giants.

As for the comment about Humax freesat box having too many buttons, the only ones I have found superfluous are the DVD/TV/audio, seeing as humax hasnt made tvs for years.

But you have the channel numbers (used if you like to change channels in a non-linear manner), the playback buttons (play/stop/skip) used if you want to play your recordings.

You have the fasstext buttons used by those who still use teletext.

Media accesses recordings, guide gives you the tv guide, exit and back are self explanatory.

    I is for program info.

Opt+ is for context sensitive options in menus. I don't use it much, but have done.

I don't have time to go through all the buttons but I can't think of a single one I've never used except the four device ones at the top.

That's true, I'd forgotten all about this thread.

And it's gone. Just as well I quoted it else your post would have looked odd. ;)
