Full Service = Kwik Fit = Should I go with them

Hi guys, my fuel consumption isn't doing as great as it was 2 and a half months ago the car runs fine but I don't know when the car had it's last service history so want to go and do one.
My question is, I know all kwik fit garages are different because different people work in them, but I'm wondering should I go to kwik fit for my full service history?
There are many garages around mine and they are looking at 60 - 90 pounds for a full service history but because Im a kid and most of them look like they won't do the job properly or rip me off, I'm thinking of going to kwik fit for me, mainly because they accepts credit/debit cards and the other's dont so If the service history isn't done properly. I can raise a dispute with my bank...
It costs £145 - £165 for a full service with kwik fit I believe and I think the car needs a FS ASAP, with winter kicking in, not knowing when the last FS was done ect.

Last I heard even Halfords autocentres accepted cards but again, you're the 18 y/o who knows best so I must be wrong!
As for the service 'history' you mention I've no idea what you mean. Do you mean the stamp being put in the book? If thats the case then surely you want it done at a dealership for it to be 'proper'?
As for raising a dispute with your bank.. 1) You can only do that with a credit card NOT a debit card 2) you need to approach the garage first so if KF have done a bodge you go back to them you don't just ring the bank and ask for a refund :rotfl:
Seriously, you've got a funny attitude to how the world owes you one. You shouldn't have to accept a red light ticket and just blame someone else and you shouldn't have to pay for a full service if you can get the bank to pay for it, oh you really are clever :T
Good luck in life cos you'll need it :beer:0 -
If you can't find a local garage that takes cards, you aren't looking hard enough.
If you're in Manchester try Shakespeare Motors, Eccles.0 -

Did your car come with any service history?
If so you will know when the last service was.0 -

I wasn't going to respond to you because you called me a troll and I really am not one.
Nope no service history. I will just use my credit card whoever I use just to be on the safe side if I have to go back to them and they don't rectify the problem.0 -
have you no pals who know a mechanic that does ,homers, when I was apprentice I did car services for a quarter of garage price and made more than a weeks wages of each one ,built up enough regular customers to buy a garage when 23 , instead of renting a lockup. are kwikfit time served mechanics or people who have done a couple of svq,s or what they call them.0

Beware about using Kwik Krap or Halfrauds- these places have a terrible reputation and with out being rude you sound a bit gullible so I would expect these places to take you for a ride.
You need to find a small independent and ask for a full service. Stop going on about a full service history as this just tells every one you haven't got a clue about cars and this may give others the impression that you are an easy target for a dodgy operator or garage.
Also if you are not happy with the service there is nothing your credit card company will be able to do, unless you have purchased a part that then fails by credit card and the manufacture is not willing to swap it- but this is very rare and comes under section 75 of the consumer credit act- it does not cover you for a car service.0 -
Ask whats involved in a 'full' service you could be unpleasantly suprised .
whats the car(make model engine size diesel/petrol) and whats the mileage ?0 -
