Wrongful Defaults on Credit Reports - BBC WatchDog

In the quoted thread Experian has clearly recorded a default passed to them by Arrow Global with the wrong date of birth, but Experian is quoted in this article - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/moneybox/8098674.stm - as saying, "We test the data before it's added to credit reports, we monitor the data on an ongoing basis and report any discrepancies back to the organisation."
This is clearly NOT true given the difficulties they had in the quoted thread at getting an inaccurate one removed.
Does contradict this.
Compliance Guide: Data Protection (PDF) - ExperianAlthough the data has been obtained from a lender, the Credit Reference Agency must take reasonable steps to ensure its accuracy. It does this, by conducting tests on a sample of data received each month – to check for any discrepancies or inconsistencies.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Arrow Global seem to turn up with particular frequency on these, so I would like to collate examples.

I missed the original Watchdog investigation but would have been very interested in it. What was the scope of the original investigation?0

Scope has been quite wide, as they have done several report in recent years. Some focusing on the debt recovery companies and their abuse of the system, and others focusing in the role of the CRAs themselves where they allow or facilitate such mistakes and abuse to take place.
Here is some info from the one that focused on the CRAs: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006mg74/features/credit-reference-agencyFree/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
