Hi, I have just received a small claims court form from Arrow Global for a debt that I believe was over 8 years ago.

In the quoted thread Experian has clearly recorded a default passed to them by Arrow Global with the wrong date of birth, but Experian is quoted in this article - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/moneybox/8098674.stm - as saying, "We test the data before it's added to credit reports, we monitor the data on an ongoing basis and report any discrepancies back to the organisation."
This is clearly NOT true given the difficulties they had in the quoted thread at getting an inaccurate one removed. What will your verse be?

Good on the man above. I despise CRA's and the companies that use them.
Everyone got on just dandy before CRA's came along so I see no purpose for them. They are simply a fungal cash cow in the financial services industry.0 -

I think they play a valuable role, but data inaccuracies need to be handled much better than they are at the moment because it's despicable that these things take so long to resolve, especially when there was a data mismatch to begin with. Creditors/DCAs have no real incentive to solve the problem swiftly as they don't gain from it.
If information is submitted to a CRA with an incorrect date of birth, the CRA should not under any circumstances add it to someone's credit file who has a different DOB.
Also, disputed information should be visible only to credit file owner while the dispute is in progress, and a notice of correction should be added saying something along the lines of "Please note that there is currently a dispute in progress about the accuracy of information contained in this credit report and not all information is currently visible. Yadda yadda about not being a true test of creditworthiness."What will your verse be?
