  • Wingo - I know how you feel my kitchen was half finished. The boys had done the worktop but left the units as there were. Can't afford a new kitchen but the doors in our kitchen are okay, the white had gone that horrible yellow colour so I have chalk painted them with Annie Sloan paint (5L has done a whole kitchen, a dinner table and a Welsh dresser still got some left) and have bought wooden door knobs from Ebay for £16 for 40. Looks amazing now. Just got to sort out the yellowing in between the unit which is easily sorted with either paint or white sticky back plastic and get some new vinyl down :D Only the rest of the house to do lol

Sheils - hope the snow clears up for you.

EmmaP - Thanks for the heads up on RoboForm on the iPad. I just upgraded to it and was pleased to hear that I could use in on Android and iPad but if it doesn't work, then I won't bother. What's the issue with it?

Well, LO is still teething, crying the house down. Bless her. I feel like there's a long road ahead with this. Though was quite the perfect angel for granddad when he arrived from Belgium. Just glad he got here okay with all the snow.

The estate agent called us to do a viewing on the house the other day cos they couldn't do it as it was after their closing time. Wasn't happy about doing it as what am I actually paying them for plus had to get mum to babysit as no way am I going to that house after dark on my own. Just before we set off, we got a call, the guy that was viewing it had only just left work and was going to be an hour later than he said he was going to be. Again not happy! What if I'd paid for a babysitter, were they going to pay me back? Hmmm I don't think so! So having to do the viewing tomorrow as yet again they don't open on a Sunday. I just feel like they are taking the p*** as they know we have a baby, they know we don't like going to that house anymore yet, plus I really don't see why I'm paying them as they seem to phone us up all the time to do things and we actually had two private offers for what we want for it and couldn't accept as we would be breaking their 'contract' and would have to pay them £4200 which more than we can afford. I hate estate agents (no offence to anyone that is one or knows one). Just feel like I'm getting ripped off and it feels like they are getting their landlords friends to put in stupid offers to drive down the price. UGH just seem to rant about this house all the time. Sorry guys.

Also why since the forum had maintenance can't I reply to any thread in IE :( have to keep going into chrome.

Hope the viewing goes ok for you Nicole so you can get the house off your hands. I know what you mean about estate agents, what if you took the house off the market then sold it to private buyer? You could say to estate agent that you weren't happy with their service maybe. Sounds like they're messing you around a bit anyway.

Been watching poppers penguins with kids again. :)

  • Can't until July as they have a 6 month exclusive contract. Bloody small print. What really annoyed me was that I was pressured in to sign it as they cut off date for putting it in the auction was that day otherwise I'd would have to wait until April to put it into auction. Was told to pull it from the auction as they told me they had a buyer and then all of sudden said buyer disappeared and now nearly into April! Also the buyer pays £6k to them to buy it! I knew there was a fee on auctions but £6k?? I thought it would be the price to sell a house as a seller like £1k - £1.5
Should have thought about it more to be honest but just wanted the house off my hands as it was empty, am paying the mortgage on it (now the council tax due to a law change) and it was broken into and everything was pretty much stolen including the internal doors. I was so heartbroken to see the house I had happily lived in, destroyed that I just wanted it gone and they prayed on that.

That doesn't seem fair Nicole, have you tried citizens advice to see where you stand? I would ask on the mortgage forum/house buying forum for advice, maybe they can see another way out for you.

    Good Morning,

Sun shining away here - shame about all the snow blocking us in!
Some of the surrounding areas are without electricity so it could be a lot worse. A tiny plough came round last night but it couldn't do anything with the amount of snow that is here.
    Hope everyone else is OK.

Hope you get things sorted out Nicole. Have lived in my house for over 30 years and I have no intentions of moving.

    Have a lovely day.
