Oh loma! That's awful news! I'm guessing they don't work weekends so your only hope would be to wait until monday :(. It doesn't make sense why they would have cancelled it! You're right to want to rant about things.

Been waiting for something myself from a blogger, but she's heard nothing from the company! It does make you wonder what they spend their time doing!

Had a few flutters of snow today, hope it doesn't last! Sat shivering here!
Postie bought me some handwarmers - so maybe they will help! Still awaiting 10 things! I wonder where they have got too! x

Hope everyone is well today and keeping warm! :)

Syl: Does the competition provider (Prima) have a Facebook page? If so they might act better if embarrassed on there.

It's like D!ck Emery is running the show. Hard enough to win and they mess you about!

Please can I have a ran?????????

Washing machine was supposed to be coming tomorrow from the comp that ended end of November. It was with Prima magazine/Service. After a long list of delays Argos agreed to delivery this to me 23rd Feb between 7 - 1. As we were waiting in especially before travelling down to DD's I though I would ring and check as had a funny feeling about it as they promised to deliver in December and didn't. When I rang Argos to check they said the order had been cancelled and couldn't tell me why as the order wasn't in my name. I have rang the lady who I have spoken to previously at Prima and she is working at home today. They say they will call her and get her to ring me. I feel physically sick with it all now and could cry.

Sorry - rant over, it does you good to get if off your chest sometimes and hope you don't mind my rant.

What do you all think I should do?

Oh Sylv, you are entitled to have a rant!!!! Please don't get to upset:(, tho I can imagine your frustrations!!! I hope the prima lady has now got in touch!!!! You have been fobbed off long enough, it's not fair, it's your win, you have been let down again and again and needs dealing with at a higher level now :(

I'm no expert but I think you will be able to complain to another email/company - something to do with unfair treatment etc with this sort of thing and they look into it on your behalf.

Someone on here will know who you should get in contact with, get it sorted and hopefully you will receive your prize ...... at long last!!!!! It's a rum do right enough but hopefully, with backing, all will be ok. fire***fly :A - we need your expertise please xxxxxxxxx

These are the people Sylvia:

Edwin Mutton is towards the bottom of the page along with his email address. He's brilliant and very often just the mention of contacting them gets the wheels moving. I would say that you are really beginning to feel like you are being messed around and if there is not a firm delivery date set within a reasonable amount of time you will have no choice but to get them involved.

B.Sue - thanks for that have bookmarked the page. Prima are supposed to be ringing my back today so will see what the outcome is then contact this fella. I don't think its Prima that are the problem as they always speak to me and the lady concerned is furious about it. She is trying to get hold of Service who I think are the problem, but no doubt they have gone home for the weekend now. Will probably have to wait until Monday!

7 What happens if my prize doesn’t turn up?
This is going to be individual to each comp. Usually it will state in the T & C for each comp how long it should take for the prizes to be dispatched to winners. As a general rule though or in the absence of any particular details in the T & C, allow 28 days, (allow more if we are experiencing postal strikes or extreme weather conditions). If the prize hasn't arrived by then, get in touch with the company offering the prize. Try to contact the person whose details you have & ask politely if there is a problem with delivery. A telephone call is the best way, but failing that try emailing them. If they don't reply, look on the original website for contact details & contact them, again being as polite as you can.

If you still get no response from them, there are a few different things you can try.

The Institute of Promotional Marketing complaints@theipm.org.uk lay down the guidelines which comp organisors must follow. MSE Compers have reported that they are very good at investigating dodgy comps & missing prizes with one chap in particular Edwin Mutton, being an absolute star. Please note, the IPM was formerly known as the Institute of Sales Promotion (name change in May 2010) however, the contact info does not appear to have changed.

The Advertising Standards Authority have an online complaints form.

I had an issue with a prize not turning up & after chasing politely for 5 months, I mentioned that I had been advised to talk to the Institute of Sales Promotions about the matter. Funnily enough that resulted in a letter of apology within a few days, along with a box of ‘Apology Goodies’ & my prize turned up 2 weeks later. Just remember to keep your cool & remain polite.

Thanks for that Firefly - I am just waiting to hear back from Prima, such a nice lady too, but think that she won't get hold of Service until Monday as I mentioned earlier. After that if I don't get satisfaction I will be on to the contacts you have mentioned. Just glad I rang otherwise I would have been more cross at waiting in yet again for something that doesn't arrive. Thanks again.

Thats me home - in time for DD coming home from school. The girl who gives her a lift to school doesn't seem to have come for her today and as we weren't here I think she would be late.
We were at Keswick and had a walk along Derwentwater which was spectacular today with snow on the mountains etc. Also went to one of these stone circle places (like Stonehenge) and called in at Rheghed which is a builing that looks like a grass hill with shops and thing to do with Cumbria. Tired out now but should have enough energy to comp.

That is dreadful about your washing machine Sylvia - hope you get it sorted out soon. I threatened the Stella lot with IPM and I got my gloves within the week.

Hope everyone is OK - no-one got a win today yet?

I have been back on to Argos to see if they could tell me any more. It was cancelled on 6th Feb. Spoke to Prima again and asked who is paying for this machine and they say its Service. Argos also told me that the machines were in stock.
