Saw the last one and thought it was funny.
Sheils - Well done, thats a fab win.
Ellemm - well done on your win too. Never heard of dreich before, had to go and find out what it meant. I come from way too far down to have heard of that one.
Overslept again today but thankfully Fred was up and did my first Times comps for me. Egg timer now in position so should be OK now.
Firefly/iluvcats - loving all the firefly pics.
Must get on SYL
Sylv: 'dreich' tends to mean a combination of maybe drizzly, dull, maybe cold, overcast, misty, miserable weather - a sort of a grey day to wrap it up in one !! Covers everything!!!!!My mum always used the expression, so have grown up with it.
xxxx
Fred is a star!!!! Am carrying on with spring cleaning.
Lots to do. Have a beautiful lamp that DH and I bought years ago. It's floor standing and we bought it in France. Hasn't worked for some time but alfie has become an electrician .............. together with the help of an electrician pal!!!!It's now working:j:j So pleased.
xxxxxxx
Oh wingo!!! nearly missed you out!!!!! Good luck re job interview and I am sending big hugs and best wishes to you and keeping everything crossed. Keep strong and stay positive. Sending good vibes your way. Alf xxxxxxxxMILITARY WIVES CHOIRSHELP for HEROES0 -
Afternoon all
Just wanted to let you know that there's another Times hourly tomorrow for an iPad mini. Have posted it here and will add the entry link when it becomes available.
Hope we're all well. It's bit dreich here in Surrey too - I use a lot of Scottish words as I'm from the Aberdeen area, my hubby is from London and says that even after 25 years together I still come out with ones he hasn't heard from time to time.
Sheils, you're doing well with the wins at the moment - karma is rewarding you for your hassle with the Tesco clubcard.
Wingo, great news on the interview - sounds a daunting process but just remember that it gives you lots of opportunities to show them how good you are. We women tend to concentrate on what we think we can't do in interviews, but we can all do so many things that we often don't think of it as anything special, but it is!
Love the pictures Sylv and iluvcats!
I've been out for a facial this morning - my monthly treat to myself and then a wee bit of shopping. Now back and will finish reading the paper and then get on with some things round the house.
Hope someone in the Inn has a win from The Times!0 -
Been busy in here while I have been away shopping. Had more bother with Tesco - they overcharged me on 2 items today. Only 15p and 50p but went straight back in and claimed £1.30 back. Better in my account than theirs. Got home too late to enter the 12 O'Clock Times Comp though so must go and enter the 1pm before I forget.
Thanks for tomorrows heads up again Sue - would love one of those.
Well done to everyone else who got prizes through today. Loved Kermit singing ILC.
That is a great pic of the old couple Sylvia and I am still impressed with Fred and the comping. Bet he has done your dailies too. I do most of DHs for him, mind you he does things for me to stop things interupting my comping.
Love some os our Scottish words like dreach and glakit as there are no real English equivalents. Think my DH uses more of them than me from picking them up at his work and pubs etc.
Well done wingo - will really keep everything crossed for your interview. I'm sure you would be brilliant at that job.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Afternoon everyone, just thought i would pop my head in to say hello & hope everyone is OK today.
Very chilly down here and the sun has gone shy againNot like yesterday!
My day off work today after a late driving job to the Colston Hall in Bristol last night. Was hoping to go in a watch the Bournemouth Orchestra play the Hollywood Blockbusters, but the minibus was double parked so thought I had better stay with it.
Jut waiting for the wife to finish work at 3pm and to show her the BAFTA bag that arrived this morning. Absolutely over the moon with it and she is very excited to use some of the products0 -

Well!! Going on with the spring cleaning!!!!!
I have just shifted a huge big three seater settee to hoover underneath.
I found .......... 7 empty cotton reels (cat!), two almond nuts (cat!), 1 walnut (cat!), 1 brazil nut (cat!) and a poor spider who sadly didn't make it (I'm guessing ......... cat!!!!). Aaaaaargh!! Alfie's cleaning goes on!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So glad I can do this since my accident - 4 months on and it needs doing and i'm on the case, new fresh start and all that!:D xxxxxxx

You do keep busy Alfie. I must admit I hate cleaning and I only like gardening when the sun is out!Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media
