'Bingo' Wingo!!!!!! You are an :A!!!!! You have just given me the ooooomph I need!!! As much as i love take a break you have sparked an idea/memories going way back and i am going to go down a different route starting this year.

Have always loved the written word and just love writing about anything and everything with a bit of verse thrown in for good measure ...... as you can prob tell! My posts here are always quite short and compact :D (ok, i am telling porkie pies :rotfl::rotfl:) - well, I would love to post more but i have to control myself else it would turn into an Alfie epic novel!!!!! :D I have so much I can write - such funny stories!!

Eeeerm, I am also an artist (without the 'p---' in front of that, though many may agree to disagree!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:).

I used to illustrate, paint portraits, animation, paint scenery - anything and everything. I don't know how I was blessed with being able to do this, never had any training, nothing. My kids have inherited the same love of art and i have say ........ they are much better than me ...... but i don't hold it against them :A:rotfl::rotfl:

Anyhow, I have two rough books in the loft (written and illustrated for kiddies) which i am going to bring down, dust off and redo. And have a lot of ideas going round me scatty head for more!!!

After a lot of heartache here over the last year or so, I stopped all artwork, now i feel maybe the time is right and i can pick up the brushes again. :)

Bring it on Alfie!!! Thank you Wingo - just for that one comment, you have put fire in me thingy's. :T:T:T Alf xxxxx

Great to see how cheerful everyone is today!

We are back slightly the worse for wear and sitting having a cuppa now (I know we are light weights)

Your art ideas sound good Alf - we live in Scotland's Artist Town and DH always says he wants to add the "P" word in front of the sign.

DS3 is away back to work now and looking a bit better! It is just so unfair that some peeps have to work on holidays. He has 3 weeks holiday to take soon though which no-one had told him about until recently. Going to do some comps now if I can concentrate enough.
Hope you have all had a brilliant day. x

Yep, you are light weights!!!! :D:rotfl::rotfl: (As if i can talk, falling asleep before midnight last night !!!! :rotfl:)

Rabbie Burns night soon, do you celebrate it? My family do, piping in of the food etc. And a wee tot of this and that along the way!!!! Did you have black bun new years eve? Having scottish family I was brought up on haggis, black pudding, black bun and all other wonderful food stuff from up north. Though now a vegetarian, still love the bun and fly cemetery (pastry oozing with raisins, currants, fruit etc for those who are not acquainted with it it) - believe me, it's scrummy!!! xxxxx

It's hard isn't for peeps working holidays. Feel for them so much.
Hope your son takes his holiday up soon Sheils and has a wonderful break and well deserved rest. xxxxx

Am not really cheerful am going demented , DS got his XBox off Santa, with XBox live as I felt it would enable him to interact more with his friends as we can't allow him to play outside in the street with them. He has such a loud, deep monotonous voice he is now talking or should I say shouting! to them all day long. Is lovely for him and he''s so happy to be mixing (even if it's only cyber mixing!), but I hate loud noises so past week has been "Levi" don't have to say anything else, him with a "Sowwy" (can't roll his RRRR's), then 5 minutes later he's on full volume again!

Glad you are having a good time Katie!

We do have haggis on Burns night Alf and DH has whisky too. Ashamed to say I have no idea what black bun is - not sure if it is made in this area. DH is actually Engish but loves Scotland and would never go back to live in England. As this is DS3s first job (he is only 16) and he had 2 weeks hols in July he didn't know he had 3 weeks hols to take before the end of March. He gets some hols on Sunday and is desperate for them. He works terrible long hours and doesn't get paid well but he is doing really well and they keep saying he is going to get a pay increase.Apprentices have such a hard time especially chefs.

I know all about boys shouting on their consoles becky. DS3 yells and swears all the time on his PS3 and when his grown up brothers are here it is worse. His bedroom is right through the wall from the livingroom which makes it worse although I can just bang through!
