The Compers Inn Part 39

Had an email from DS1 who was raving about the fireworks at Sydney Harbour Bridge - I am not jealous, I am not jealous...... lol
DS3 has just come back from work and gone to bed. This was his first Hogmanay out and about. The chef in charge took pity on him and sent him home for a sleep until 4pm. Luckily the head chef was off ! The poor chef in charge had the same problem 10 years ago with DS2. It must have felt like deja vu for him as they look so alike.
Off to family buffet soon.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Happy New Year everyone  One of my (many) resolutions is to stop lurking here in the Inn and join in now and again

Lovely clear sunny day here in central Scotland, will it last though-doubt it :rotfl:
Quiet day planned as OH recovering from knee replacement op last week. Did enjoy BBC Scotland's coverage of the Bells last night.0 -

Happy new year everyone.
I was out and about before 8 this morning, when I saw a woman creep out of a house carrying her shoes and bag. I think she must have still been under the influence as she was tip-toeing...lol.I think she had a great night.0 -

I've never driven an automatic but if it's what you're used to that's great. Have fun and take care out there!
Hi! Loving puppy pics, what a wee cutie he is!!!
Yep, complete surprise, everyone knew apart from me!!!! We had opened all the pressies xmas morning and all family and I were enjoying the morning, laughing and joking, and just as daughter and son in law were cooking xmas lunch, they suddenly appeared and looked around the tree (lol) and said 'oh mum look, there's still a pressie for you behind the tree, we must have missed it'!! :rotfl::rotfl:
Well, I was presented with a wee wrapped box with a lovely message on it and when I opened it, there was car keys!!! I burst into tears, couldnt believe it
Then, they told me to follow them to their lovely next door neighbours (they had been in it too!) and there was my wee car, hidden away in their driveway!! Burst into tears again
and then big big hugs all round. Such :A's, love them all to bits.
My daughter drove it back here for me, before jetting off to New York with my lovely son in law.
Had a good walk this morning to exercise the legs, now hoovering the carpet big time cos soppy lump of hug labrador is such a 'hairy mary'!!!!
Loadsa moulting going on!! Have only got a small hoover, so thought it best to try to hoover every day. I stick a cd on and try to get a bit of rhythm going with hoover (bit more exercise and quite enjoyable!:D), just hope neighbours aren't watching!! :rotfl::rotfl: Alfie xxxxxxx MILITARY WIVES CHOIRSHELP for HEROES

I love moments like that. We did it last year with DDs iPad, she'd opened her presents, we had said we wouldn't be doing a lot as we had given her some cash when she went to New York in the September (she's sooo jealous of your Daughter going there by the way). We waited a while then gave her the iPad which was wrapped in a thick fluffy towel inside the paper, so she thought it was clothes of some sort, her face was a picture when she opened it.....love it

That's a really lovely gift from your family

Welcome ellemm, hope OH is recovering well
xx
Fingers crossed your GChild will arrive soon tttjay :A I bet you can't wait!
Blimey fire**fly! You were an early bird today!
I didn't go to bed till late and when hubby came in from nights he cuddled into me with his cold body so had to warm him up a while....but fell back to sleep!
:rotfl:
Indie, that made me laugh about the woman! I bet they were a few of them today creeping from houses!
Hope the dogs are well today Sue, did you have many fire**works going off near you?
Sheils, that was nice of your sons chef to let him have a sleep
it must be hard to stay focused all night. When hubby started his new job in hospital on nights they said he could get his head down while it was quiet but to listen out for alarms. His bleeper was going for first response but he slept through it!
Have a lovely day everyone
I had planned on a quiet day but SIL just called to say she is having a party
woohoo....PARTY!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -

Are you drinking already wingo? fire**works? Why the ** :rotfl:
There were fireworks and neither dog seemed bothered, mind you they were both out for the count. Cooper isn't bothered by them normally so we're hoping that will rub off on Finlay. It didn't happen in the past though when we had 2 dogs. Gemma wasn't at all bothered until we got Deefer who hated them, before long she was as scared as he was.
Enjoy your party
