yes you can do tracking from a van
i use dunlop gauges and so long as you have some flat concrete or tarmac then its not a problem
    £60 was too dear though
you probably paid for an all flashing tardis machine where they rent it all and only need 2 customers a day on it to make silly profit as shown in the reps sales brochure to them

aim to pay about £25 next time for a tracking on a focus:)

Thats depressing. That was back and front. The place heaved with customers and everyone needed and paid for trackig to be done. Oh well, live and learn, will ask at the same time as tyre prices next time. Sad!

they sell you the speil 4 wheel tracking but its just a scam
at least you are willing to listen
    put it down to experience
or go back and ask them to show you how they tracked up the back end of a focus
    they cant
be prepared for them to waffle:)

They said each set of wheels out so much and one lot cost this and the others that. Perhaps they didnt actually use the words retracking of back .
This is what the bill says and am quite prepared to take it up with them if necessary:

    Front wheel alignment adjust 29.17
    Alignment adjust rear toe £25
    4 wheel alignment zero

    thanks

For future reference, the rear tracking of most run of the mill hatchbacks is NOT adjustable. :)

I think the 4 wheel alignment costs £10 for setup & one adjustment. +£5 for each corner that needs adjusting? Something like that.

So £60 is too much for tracking. I had the front and rear done on my MK3 mondeo.

£80 for a tyre? I paid under £60 for the Khumo's on mine.

fair enough, but what is this rear toe business they did. How should that be described and priced?
I guess they are keeping the terminology simple when they speak to customers, the invoice makes it clear what they actually did for their money, clearly no one thinks it was worth the money. Where should I have gone instead since most tyre places around us are chains - ATS, Halfords, Quickfit? Would they have been cheaper.

    Sometimes yes. usually NO.

My local tyre place beat the online prices.

No need to haggle or query the price. The price is the price.

Where have you had 4 wheel alignment for a tenner on the Mondeo?
    I've seen it from £50 to £90.
