Renting for one month - ideas?

Hi all, we have a month between leaving one property and moving into the other property. We have tried all ways to get the dates closer, but it is what it is. So we're now looking for decent budget ideas of where we can live for a month. We have no furniture as thats being stored, we have no relatives close enough to work. Two adults. Any thoughts??

Bed and breakfast, Travelodge with a deal through Ceefax or online agent, Spareroom.com, bribe friends/ colleagues/ relatives, card in local shops or work noticeboard. Nothing stopping you living apart or living one place in the week and another at the weekend.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

What is your budget? You're unlikely to find a traditional rental for that short a period, so look towards either friends or the tourist trade. The cheapest option may well be beds in a hostal, or you might be able to get a cheap holiday let as it's off season.Note: Unless otherwise stated, my property related posts refer to England & Wales. Please make sure you state if you are discussing Scotland or elsewhere as laws differ.0

Lots of holiday caravans, bungalows and chalets available at the moment, especially on parks. Worth a try. Also places available short term as winter lets. You may be able to negotiate with the LL for a shorter period.0

Thank you, good ideas all. B&B's quite expensive in this area (near London) but Travelodge a possibility. Like the suggestion of caravans too. Will look into that. Also looking at YHA - so thanks for that

Have a look for a small independent B&B run bay a family or old couple. Explain that you don't need cooked breakfast every day etc. and see if they will do a deal. Can't imagine that the would all so no to something like £30 per night = £210 per week for a room?--- Fat club weight loss -- Started 10th April 2015

If you book some of the Premier Inn/Travelodge type places in advance (I think over 21 days ahead), you can get their cheapest deals - I have seen £19/night quoted on a poster outside our local one. There may be other T&C's to abide by, but if you have definate move dates, you should be able to secure a good price.
Otherwise, out of season, many self-catering holiday places will let you have short lets - they may be limited to something like 28 continuous days under their planning permission, but you could still take a TL/PI type room for a few days if need be. Try to negotiate a good deal with a holiday place, as it will be rent they would not otherwise get, plus no extra costs for changeovers etc.0 -
Worth asking local estate agents, but not looking likely.
When is this happening? Does it coincide with university Christmas holidays, for example? Might be able to get something via that route.
But Travelodge (as has been suggested) was my first thought.
Are either of you in to writing? You could try a different Travelodge every other day and write a book about it. ("Sam's Living on the Road 24/7", maybe?) Might be able to get it published!0 -
Have a look at Gumtree.
I sometimes I rent out my spare room on a week to week basis and have homed a few people that were inbetween homes.
If its only 1 month, its worth the "hassel" of living with a stranger imho! Cost down here in the South is approx £400-500 depending on size of room etc.
Good luck!Sealed Pot Challenge 5 #1440

You could try finding a holiday home where the owner may be willing to do a deal for a month's let - at this time of year many of them might normally only get a few weekends so a full month could be an attractive option.0

I just looked at the Camberley travel lodge for this very reason, and for 28 days B&B it would cost me £644 for a family room, its very reasonable (£161 a week, £23 a day).0
