MSE News: BMI frequent flyers must transfer points to BA
Comments

For anyone struggling (as I was) to convert their 20,000 BMI miles to Avios:
1 You need to set up a BA Executive Club account into which you move the miles. It will only be a Blue membership, but that's not a problem - they still convert on a one for one basis.
2 Theoretically, you can then move the miles via the BMI website - it will link through to the BA website and ask you for BA login details.
3 Frequently, however, that will not work. There are major problems with the websites and frequent apparently meaningless error messages. The problems are sometimes caused by a mismatch between the dates of birth recorded in the BMI and BA accounts, so you might want to check that.
4 If all else fails (as it may well do!) call this number:
0800 4080009 (BA Executive Club)
They can do the transfer for you manually, and I found them incredibly helpful.
Ditto.
Tried transferring myself twice, unsuccessful.
Lady on the phone did it for me in 10 minutes.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

The www.flybmi.com will close soon.
From 28 October, Diamond Club members will have a new website:
www.diamondclub.org
Hopefully, transfer difficulties will then get resolved.0 -

Does transferring your destinations miles to Avios count as “activity” and will you receive 36 months from when you transfer your destinations miles to Avios?
No. Transferring destinations miles to Avios does not count as activity and the Executive Club Terms and Conditions applyIf money saving starts to involve irritation or frustration the fine line between thrift and greed should be examined.0 -
Hi all,
Does anyone know how to register with the Diamond Club? I opened the BMI card last month and can see the points on my MBNA statement, however I receieved a letter saying to log into DiamondClub.org to access my points and there is nowhere on the website to actually register! It is very frustrating.
I can't even use the 'contact us' form because my email address isn't registered with them (typical) and the office is now closed.
Just wondered if I'm missing something very simple!
Thanks0 -

I had the same problem. Switching to a different browser solved it.Arbroath_Annie wrote: »I've been trying to convert points from bmi Diamond Club to Avios with BA's Executive Club several times today. After logging in with BA and following all the steps it immediately says "session timed out". The phone number for customer help doesn't go through, just the message " the person has hung up". Anyone else succeeding or with suggestions? Are they suddenly just overwhelmed or am I missing something?koru0 -

Did you solve the problem? As I am having the same problem!
As there seems to be no way of contacting them, I have rung mbna 3 times.
First phone call they said they had nothing to do with it,
second time they gave me a phone number (which turned out to be the british airways phone number),
third phone call, they have now forwarded my queries to the marketing department (bit confused why) for them to get back to me within 5 to 7 working days.
I have been looking for a way on contacting them for hours. I just want my reward points, then I shall be cancelling my cards
