    Mine was in the last six months for a refund of tax on interest overpaid, but this was through a self assessment tax return.

    The option for a cheque was on the web page, but I just put my bank details in and it showed up a few days later as "HMRC".

    Well I had a pleasant phone call this morning - It is my money - It was NSI, it was so long ago I requested to cash the bond (and I asked for payment via Direct Debit), so the cheque "paid in" threw me.

    I do think if organisations send a cheque direct to the branch, they should send a letter. I have "fretted" for days I had someone else's money.
