And the problem with this is?

I did this when i was a postie and my customers liked this.

Better than me carrying it around the rest of my walk and the customer having to go and collect it.

Personally I don't like strange men trying to get into my house... that's the problem with this! We've recently purchased a place and thought, no longer having a landlord with a key, that we'd escaped such behaviour - I certainly didn't expect it from the postman!

Your customers might like it, but I have no such arrangements with our postman ... especially one where he doesn't even bother to wait 10 seconds for someone to answer the door
You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back
  • Our posties (2 regs) will try both the front and side doors if they have something that won't fit in the post box (we don't have a letter box on our door, not my choice, inherited). They know the dog will bark like mad if they knock and LO is usually having a nap when our post is delivered, so I'm really grateful. Either that or they stash it in our pre-arranged place :)

Well at least he didn't stick his knob through the letterbox.

My postie and local courier both do this. If it doesn't need signed they just knock to say they are there and then open the door straight away and sit it inside, closing the door behind them. I don't have a problem with it (in fact prefer it in some ways).
