Other things that are free...volunteering in too many places and ways to list.
Not free but cheap.. Art..sketching or if feeling more expansive, painting( the works do cheap paints) or crafting. Crafting can make money and I thought that might have been a possible pn?0 -
We went to the Savoy for dinner, but only once. There was a restaurant with a dance floor, and DW and I made our usual foolish but enjoyable attempt at dancing. We don't know any of the right steps. The food was not that impressive - grit in the salad, for example. In fact, apart from that, the food was completely unmemorable.
Posh Alert.
I've been there several times. In fact I used to book Private rooms there, and sort Menu's out with the Chef. I think (from memory) I also used to bung the Maitre D a hundred quid or so, to make sure all went well. This is in a different World, nearly 20 years ago, when I worked in the City. The food was always top notch, but you'd expect that when you saw the bill my Employers had to pay
These days I prefer nothing better than sitting in a Restaurant that serves good Local food, surrounded by Locals, and preferably......cheap0 -
Complete shopping fail ..... I have no sweeties... except the ones I've hidden in the car because it's a WHOLE tin ... and therefore very very very tempting. Managed to ignore them/hide them there now for 7 weeks..... it was a xmas raffle win tin.0

Have you ever advertised your unwanted articles on Ebay?
We have had an awful lot of articles that we have held onto for what seems like an eternity, just in case they maybe needed in the future, they usually ended being placed in the loft just in case, well my OH and I have been quite ruthless in getting rid of years of these items on Ebay and we have earned quite a nice little pot of pennies over this past year.
I always looked to put the items on Ebay when it was a 'free listing' whereby you only pay when you have sold the item.
We had the old gates that must have been fitted at the front of the Bungalow lying at the top of the garden covered in plantation, I got them out put them on Ebay and someone offered £30.00 for them and came and collected them. Can be money for old rope.:)0 -

Look, PN, you know perfectly well that if you bring them indoors you'll eat them all in double-quick time. So, give them away before they can hurt you.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I now travel with only the bare minimum of things.
I have no unwanted articles.
I am, due to the many relocations I've done, "starting from scratch again". Nothing is surplus to requirements.... I have virtually nothing to my name.
Absolutely everything I own could be packed into a smallish van .... with room to spare.
I really don't know what to say except that I was totally unaware and I hope that I have not upset you in any way.:sad:0 -

Bertie, I am thinking about eBay. I have to admit its been a long think, I started thinking about t at least two and a half years ago. Every time I try I lose my resolve.0 -

That's your prerogative, of course.
Was the raffle sponsored by the local dentists?
Can someone remind me nearer the time that we need to organise a NPs Secret Santa? It's time that PN got some prezzies. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
In honour of Chinese new year I had a bash at a lazy version of the striped jellies from the New World dim sum trolleys.
Lazy because my stripes are both unequal and too thick.....because I had other stuff to do as well as mess with jelly.
I have tried these a few times, but always get too impatient. I think this has a cool slightly late sixties /seventies look about it. Having not been around then of course, I am not sure.0
