Well lets hope that the transitional relief protects you then.
Thanks michaels.
The thing is that I've read that the transitional relief will only apply until there's a change of circumstances. Well, my circumstances change all the time - my hours at work change by small amounts up or down every September when the new timetable's done, and other things change too - I recently notified the TC helpline that DD's after school club had put its prices up. So that makes me a bit wary of relying on the transitional relief.
Oh well, it't nothing to panic about. I'll have to let go of the desire to know in advance and just wait and see. It's only money. If they take the whole of my TCs away and give me nothing in return, it would be ... uncomfortable, but not catastrophic.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
What if you make sure you put your income at the highest likely level and your child care costs at the lowest then should they turn out lower than you estimated you don't need to update your claim as after all you re actually under-claiming...I think....0

I recently bought A tams in day Lewis cook book and tonight we are eating this
http://www.helloonline.com/cuisine/200909302130/tamasin/day/lewis/
But earlier I made a wholemeal flour cake with lemon and bay leaves. It sounds hideously worthy doesn't it? But it tastes like digestive biscuits with the most amazing lemon kick, delicious but sort of conning one onto the idea it might not be as unhealthy as it is.
Still, I am very impressed.0 -

There was a piece on US gun culture/ controls on Newsnight (Wednesday I think), it was quite interesting - should be on iPlayer?
One of the things that was mentioned was the Consititution/ right to bear arms aspect - that it was a part of being American that you had a duty to be armed to protect the country (or something along those lines)... compared with here in the UK where we expect that it is the state that will bear arms not the public. They used the example that we have pubs called the 'Kings Arms' etc.
Actually having just typed that the 'arms' bit could be referring to coats of arms really, couldn't it? Anyhow, I thought it was quite an interesting 'article'.0 -
My son has received a letter from the NHS in Scotland:
Dear Adam
Your Cervical Screening Test
In Scotland, all women aged 20-60 ....... Please ring the number above to make an appointment.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Sounds as though they may have made the simple error of getting a little mixed up with Adam and Eve or the Birds and the Bees.
or maybe NHS Scotland error on the morning after the night before:)0 -

I heard a Canadian friend describe how when Canada was settled the taxpayers paid for mounties to move into areas being settled and remind everybody they were the police and law and order.
The US did it all on the cheap and let everyone settle areas while bringing their own weapons to deal with crime privately.
If lawlessness got unbearable they'd reluctantly send a sheriff. The results, sadly are clear to see. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
we have a single radiator that is not working. Have bled and it isn't that.
It's in our main bedroom. All the other radiators in the house are fine and warm to the touch.
any ideas anyone?
Try turning all the other radiators off. Having the pump work on a much smaller route may dislodge any debris that's blocking it at the moment. We have to do this every autumn to the lounge rad.
If that fails then it could be a blocked TRV pin.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I have just asked Mr S this. He has said he would have loved me but he would not have been in a sexual relationship with me. I questioned further and he clarified this by saying he loves the dog and he does not want sex with him either.0 -
