It's bl00dy marvellous having so many long days off.... allbeit spoilt by not having [a] furniture broadband [c] proper telly signal
I managed to accrue enough holiday to take the time off over Christmas/ New Year
I think I need to start re-adjusting my body clock though - I seem to have stayed up late the past few nights watching films so am waking up late. Getting up at a normal time on Wednesday is going to be a struggle!0 -

Exactly what we are facing. Today even 7:20 felt like a struggle....I know it sounds daft but remember I am usually finished most of my heaviest workload before eight or nine in the morning.
On the plus side, gdb, we did not get home till about four and it was LIGHT. Only just ofcourse. But better than the day the chickens shuffled off to roost at two forty in the afternoon, and until today the latest they have been out is half three. So a big leap forward for us. If the cloud blew away it would seem beautifully light!0 -

I woke up this morning when my mum sent me a text message, and the light of my alarm clock was on - thought great, must be about 7ish (I wanted to get to Lidl on the early side for this weekend's offers). Looked at the time and it was 10.40. Oops! :rotfl:0 -
I even forgot it was the weekend :rotfl:
I am off work until next Tuesday but it just means not going to work, not actually not working. :cool:0 -

You are on holiday and have no kids or pets. Sleeping if you want to must be one of the perks? If working from we'd to fri you can haul your tired self through to a weekend and then your routine should be back, no?0 -
Have been to work so playing catch up. I think this will be the first of a couple of catch up posts, so apologies for the multi-quotes.Having looked up what a Klargester is, you may want to restrict the fascinating dinner table conversation to just the central heating system .....
Klargester is an um, interesting name. I'm now guessing that it digests klarg. I've never heard it called that before but it's a fantastic word that I can now chuck around ad nauseum without anyone knowing I'm being rude. "My computer has just crashed, oh klarg." "Klarg, I'm going to be late for my train." and so on...Just that I was born in London and am not very big, hence Cockney sparrer, and they're becoming extinct, like me!
Earlier this year I took part in the RSPB’s Cockney Sparrow count. The survey showed that the decline in sparrows in central London continues, but the population in the outskirts is holding up better, East more so than West. Fortunately my nest is a feathers drift from the RSPB HQ so it's my sanctuary when I want to escape from the rat race
Welcome to the NPT sparrer! You're not far from the Herts epicentre either. Oh, and I think Sandy Beds is a fabulous place name. Incidentally, I'm with you on mushrooms not being for eating, but admit that I do like stuffing things in yorkshire pudding.Still think it most unfair that:
a. traffic wardens are out at 2am
b. if you don't see the PCN on the windscreen (or its removed) you have no opportunity to pay reduced rate
(Just to add, this is or course a parking ticket that DS1 managed to get, because I wouldn't be so careless and wouldn't be out at 2am. Before you ask, it ends up in my lap because he is doing an internship so has no money.)
I'd appeal if someone took the notice off at 2am and you weren't aware. I've helped my dad appeal a ticket recently and the local office were fine about it, they were in Herts too. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Sleeping is probably my most favourite thing ever (closely followed by Marmite). I definitely do consider it a perk of being pet-, child- and partner-free.
I'm sure I will manage to struggle through Wed-Fri, its just the thought of my alarm going off on Wed am that isn't very appealing. I think I will need a lot of coffee that morning (and to perhaps not be watching a film at 3am). I just surprised myself by sleeping in so long this morning!0 -

By Klarg's beard, I think you could have started something important

Ok, I've edited that down a bit, but it sounds like the lyrics from a 60s acid trip song. Apparently if there is a photo of the ticket firmly attached to the windscreen (and there is) then you won't win an appeal on those grounds.
The alleged offence was in Islington, who are less accommodating apparently.
