Xavier Doherty isn't going to be a popular chap when he flies in to Hobart 'International' Airport, he seems to be the fall guy. His last over was 61666W.
Now to be fair, I've seen Xavier bowl in the flesh twice and both times he was woeful, just horrible. He bowls some absolute filth. I think the fact that he was replaced by Michael 'Half Volley' Beer for the WACA Test in the Ashes says it all.
Good to see that the Women's T20 final is England v Australia (previous vs current champs). Interesting side note: Australia's women also played the West Indies in their semi final.0 -

Hotel room service must be up there with one of the least MSE things on this site!!! Total rip off. 24 hours fair enough but £5.50 for 2 slices of bread with some stale cheese and ham thrown in the middle....no thanks!:eek:Living frugally at 24

I've rarely stayed in a hotel .... poshest would be a travellodge for work. Certainly no room service.
You don't have to go much above a Travellodge in price to get room service necessarily. Ibis hotels usually have room service for example and they aim to a similar crowd to Travellodge IME. Certainly I used to see Ibis as the French version of Travellodge.YoungBusinessman wrote: »Hotel room service must be up there with one of the least MSE things on this site!!! I make no claims for it's value, merely its existence as a way for the single person to get breakfast in bed, potentially.0 -
So you post with anonymous user names and then give details of your car regs? Thinking about it you are more open than most.
I've just replied to a message before seeing this, and did mention that the plates are publicly available to view, from our office car park. I've never been stopped by the 24h security team on the estate we're on, although I've always had a fully signwritten car which may mitigate it.
I've edited the original post.

Or £4.50 for this, with 4 slices of toast bunged in (because I'm on 1st name terms with the staff in there)
They brought me one at home the other morning as I hadn't been in (I was busy, but at home).

The big difference between the UK and Aussie economies is that the minimum wage here is high: normally about $20/hr for an adult. That means that if you are prepared to put in the hours, anyone fit to work can earn a proper living. An unskilled couple can make $100k if they pull their fingers out just on the minimum wage.
This is where it is so wrong.
Our office pay scales (except the cleaners) start at £9 an hour, with 33.33333 extra for overtime (which is why salary bands go up in £1.50 increments), so even a young couple on starting rate could earn £60k a year, again if they're willing to do 45 weeks of 60 hours (and we have the work to pull that).
When you go above £18 an hour, there's no additional overtime rate, but we will ensure that you're no worse off than a worker at £18 an hour (so £24/hr is the complete cut-off). 2 years in, £60k for a 40 hour week is entirely possible, again if you've put the hours in for those 2 years.
Many of our working parents work 4 days on, 9 days off (48h every 9 days), one on days, one on nights and we will try to fiddle the rota so they always get the 5 days off together, as we do have quite a few late 20s/30s professional parents on the team. We've also got a competitive bonus scheme for referrals (anything upto £5k a time, paid the month after we've done whatever needs doing)
I won't deny, I make them work hard for the money, but I fell that all employees should be paid well if the company is going well. I don't know of any other team that will chat bar staff up on a night off, in a bid to get us work.
As several NP will tell you, the long hours culture is the success in most companies!
