Alan Davies, by the way, is a very funny man.
A good show for people who like remeniscing. A good show for anyone who remembers the 70's & 80's. A lot of funny tales involving children & thier antics.
Some funny stuff about social networks & the like. Although he rails against them, interesting to see as he walked onto stage he put his smartphone down on the table, as he left, picked it up & immediately started playing with it (after a routine about mobile phones affecting people interacting face to face), & when he returned, put it down again, & started talking about audience members tweeting him during the interval...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I have seen 3 classical concerts I am interested in attending.
I have also seen that Julian Clary & Rich Hall have announced tours.
I also see Pete Firman is playing a venue locally.
Friday, I heard a rumour (confirmed today) that James are touring next year. Tickets go on sale this week.
I have no money...
WHY IS GOD DOING THIS TO ME!!!!!!!It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I changed tubes, onto the Northern line, an hour before the fire.
I remember my grandmother phoning me up to see I had got home safely and me not knowing why she was concerned.
My family were on similar tenterhooks the first time I went to a Monsters of Rock concert in 1988....unknown to most of us there, people were killed when a lighting rig (I think - some kind of rig anyway with lots of scaffolding) collapsed.
We couldn't understand why they all burst out crying when we rang home from Leicester service station at stupid o clock in the morning until they told us.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

In my job, I've interviewed 4 people on seperate issues where what I've been sat in the interview room talking to them about has been front page (local) news in a big way within 24 hours of the interview...
My nan had tickets for that ferry.....she would have been on it if she hadn't been hit by a bus the day before. She wasn't too badly injured but it was enough so that she didn't go.We made it! Guns n Roses hit the stage. That year was the only time Monsters of Rock were allowed over 100,000 to attend. The crush at the front to see GnR was immense, with 107,000 in the arena for the first time. The fans that died were killed in the resulting crush.
Big crowds are quite a phenomena. So easy for something small to go amiss to cause huge problems.
In 2002-3 football season, wolves last game of the season was against sheffield wednesday. That season is called the choke season by many wolves fans.
It is the only away game I've ever been to. I was excited, waking early, going on a journey to sheffield, checking out the city. We had front row seats. Initially, that made me happy - I foolishly thought I'd ave a great view (experience has taught me that in football stadia, being higher/further back is better). However, when I realised we were in the leppings lane end, at the front, right where the old crash barriers were, I couldn't focus on the game at all...but the history of that stand.:(It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I don't think it was the crush as such, there was def some kind of collapsing structure which collapsed from the weight of the people climbing it.
It was an awesome crowd, never before or since, seen or heard anything like it...as an 18 year old, it was really "Woah, wow!".
I will never forget the amount of injuries though, where we had positioned ourselves (with friends from a local band who had a Bruce Dickinson lookalike as a singer), was on the main route from the front to the ambulance/medical tent. The amount of broken bones we saw that day was all rather eek. The aforementioned Bruce Dickinson lookalike almost came a cropper too, he went down to the front to get ready for Maiden coming on stage when he and his partner got seperated, fell down in the crush and were then pulled out by the bouncers....
They made it back seperately to where we were sat, convinced that it was the last time they had seen each other, covered head to foot in mud and in deep shock...with a never ending hate of David Lee Roth who when asked to ask people to stop pushing forward as people were being hurt, replied with "Get the $%$ off my stage, I don't care"
My enduring memory of the day was that Guns n Roses were a load of crap as they did nothing but talk....but then, at that point we didn't know the reason they were talking and not playing, people had died and they were sorting things out.
My ring tone today is Guns n Roses.....so not crap after all.We made it! If I poke around on there, and Mr Spirit sees my browsing history, do you think he will suspect I am up to no good?
