    Yeah, last few words.
Thing is, that behaviour's not directly an attribute of the thing.... but being misunderstood leads to frustration, which leads to an explosion and lashing out.

Or, might just be some super-!!!!!! parenting going on. Or, kid might be "one of them", and parents !!!!! footed around and excused everything on that.

Best advice I'd give is - try to stay out of their way........ nutters. Don't need it :)

Fwiw, if you have to make it from the real thing you want butternut not pumpkin IMO. But it's one of those rare things where canned or prepped is better.

    Can o' Libby's, can o' evaporated ........the old Libby's recipe ;)

OK but the filter on the fridge claims it needs changing after 6 months, no measurement of volume. Now given that we don't use it that much it should still be working well after that time and given it only has fresh tap water running through it, it shouldn't be contaminated.

But I wouldn't have thought that tap water is sterile? And perhaps it is time in use when it will be,exposed to air etc rather than numbers litres, that, have passed through?
Those are just guesses rather than knowledge!

Again guesses, but it doesn't arrive in a sealed container. I thought it was about the number of litres it can filter before the carbon bits and stuff are used up - like salt in a softener.

I also rely on the fact that if people were getting ill from not changing water filters it would be all over the newspapers.

Our fridge filters arrive sealed and if we don't change them after about 4 months the water starts to taste slightly different. I love water but it needs to be cold - tap water where we grew up on the Hants downs was delicious - they started bottling it as '424' for a while. Water in St A is OK but nothing special, water in Kennington, Molesey and New Cross was fairly rank but drank it anyway as I worry that if everyone switches to bottled the water companies will think they have an excuse not to supply decent water.

WE got a water cooler at work on my request and the first company I rejected during the trial period as I didn't like the taste - I'm not sure if they had ever had that happen before...but then I seldom drink alcohol or fizzy drinks or squash or tea or coffee.

(Our ridge was an ebay bargain but the filter is not a common one so it is cheapest to buy generic filters for it from the USA, you can get super-generics that go on the pipe into the fridge but this is not easy to access.)
    I think....
