That's good going! I take it you got picked up at the airport to get back so quickly. I can get a bus from Heathrow bus station that goes very close to my door but even I wouldn't be able to get back that quickly.
Mind you the fare's only £2 (or less with an oyster card).
So is your journey door-to-door longer than the 8 hours it takes me to drive to Glasgow?
We were picked up, generally parking prices make it cheaper to get a cab than park the car. For this trip we flew out from Luton and back to Heathrow (cheapest flight options), so parking wasn't an option.
Quickest journey time would be:
1hr flat to airport
2 hr for airport security/ check in etc
4.5-5hr flight
1 hr airport to home
Theoretical shortest time is 8.5 hrs, but then you lose an hour with the time change.
Today was a money saving day, lunch in airport lounge - free, dinner (including wine) on flight bought with Avios - taxes only.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Hmm - I reckon in no traffic you can get from here to LHR in 35 minutes (may be slightly more now as they have cameras on more stretches of the M25) so it may be slightly less than an hour for you?
Of course at least one if the NP was involved in the customer handling process of T5 during the planning stage (but not the baggage process I hasten to add) so of course it is a pleasant experience.....I think....0 -

Had to plan where to eat dinner quite carefully as there were some pretty awful touristy restaurants in the middle of town!
I went on honeymoon there.....and Manchester (long story).
Used to be easy for us (if not very quick, 8 hour sailing) as the ferry left from the dock area direct over to Belgium but they stopped quite a few years ago now.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
