Puzzled by mention of lettuce. At least one religion forbids it as a taboo food (along with banning the colour blue).

    Oooh which one?

Here's a link from NHS to common food allergies. Really surprised that it includes apples and pears but not oranges. Maybe oranges are a common intolerance not allergy.

I wonder if you could hear a Mosquito device?

What can you hear on this link...

    http://movingsoundtech.com/

The sounds are on the right of the page.

I cant hear the one for 49 year age and I'm way younger than that.

I can hear the any age and the under 60.
I can only hear the "Everyone" and the "Under 60".... although my laptop fan's sounding like a train .... hearing the two I can hear I doubt the laptop noise would prevent me hearing the others though ... so I must be aged 50-59 :)

Re pears...special girl's favourite think in the whole world. She loves this time or year as she gets loads of overripe ones which she eats in a state of near ecstasy, her eyes closed, juice dribbling down her chin.

They're at school here .... on my morning route I encounter about 100-200 of them swarming into their school if I hit that spot at about 8:25.

Bu do speakers/soundcards typically play anything over 18kz?

Could this be the sound equivalent of the emperor's new clothes, do you think? If you can't hear it, it must be doing the job!

I would say that the first time I loaded the mosquito page, I too couldn't see the sound tests.... I'm sure they only appeared the second time I loaded the page.

need flash to play, I don't have flash. It's a pita not having flash. :(
... ah ... Flash crashes a lot on my PC. In fact it crashed when I first loaded the page, so that's probably why I didn't see them as I had to get rid of it to save the effort of relaunching my browser. It's a !!!!in' nuisance. Can't play most Youtube stuff most of the time at all!

I heard 1-4. 5-7 I could hear when they started/stopped, but I think that's me hearing the switching on/off (if you see what I mean) .... and if there's an 8 I could hear that being turned on too .... it all happened a bit fast at the end ..... and I was trying to listen, not read the screen :)
