When leaving feedback who should leave it first the buyer or the seller? I have just sold a few items and the buyer hasn't left feedback yet. I dont really want to give feedback yet incase they haven't recieved their item.
Also what happens if a buyer never leaves feedback for you?

There is nothing you can do really. Leaving feedback is optional. You could ask them if they have received their item and ask for feedback if you wish.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

Feedback is voluntary.
As a seller I used to leave feedback first but you get the odd buyer who will hit you with a negative for any old reason that could normally be sorted out with good communications.
So now I send a note explaining that the buyer should leave feedback when they are entirely happy with their purchase and this will signify closure of the deal. I will then reciprocate. Saves a lot of hassle.
Some buyers on the other hand never do leave feedback!!
Remember negative feedbacks tend to hurt sellers more that buyers.0 -
I work for a powerseller, we always leave feedback as soon as we receive payment.Bulletproof0

I am not quite an Ebay newbie anymore but I decided that as a seller I would leave my feedback once I had received payment and cheques etc had cleared. I send the buyer an email to this effect and to say when I have despatched their goods. That way I feel I have done my bit to keep the feedback system working. I do have a buyer who hasn't left me any feedback yet - but heyho that is her choice
I am more than happy to leave good feedback once I have been paid. As a buyer I leave feedback once I have am satisfied with the goods.
I think if we all did our bit and left feedback when we thought we should (ie when we have been paid or the goods received) then the feedback system would work fine - its when we get into the I'm not going to do it before you saga that the whole thing will come crashing down.

Happy bidding
Quite a few sellers (myself included) will disagree about what you have said about leaving feedback as soon as you are paid. I think this just opens you up to all sorts of abuse (e.g., buyer comes back to you with an unreasonable request, and threatens bad feedback knowing you've already left "Paid super quick! Many thanks! Happy to do business again!"). A much more sensible system IMO is to always let the buyer leave feedback first (and when I'm a buyer I never wait for a seller to leave feedback). This is a fairer way for both parties to know the transaction has been completed [font="]satisfactorily
