This has got to be worth contacting the dvla on, together with the letter sent to the OPExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

Yes but in the case of private parking tickets the Bailiff arm is irrelevant. And it's Newlyn plc who are AOS members and are still able to get DVLA data!

!!!!!!?! Which licence are we talking about anyway, their SIA licence, their debt collection CCA licence or what? :eek:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just had a reply from the dvla regarding the consumer credit licence, and the letters they have been sending out, anyone know when the last one was sent, the ones with Newlyn's saying as a company of bailiffs?Thank you for your email regarding this matter.

I have contacted this organisation and they have confirmed that this wording is on an old stock of letters and will no longer be used.

Regarding your comments on the consumer credit licence, while Newlyn PLC’s licence has expired, the letter you are referring to was not issued by Newlyn PLC. The letter was from Newlyn Debt Collection Ltd who have a valid consumer credit licence.

So if that letter was issued by a completely new company called Newlyn Debt Collection Ltd, how come they were using 'an old stock of letters' (what, an old editable template?!) mentioning bailiffs, which they never were?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No idea, basically they know they are in the wrong, and its complete BS that they were using an old stock of letters, I am just waiting for someone to now post another letter with the same carp on it nowExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. That would be me
(Just joined to reply to this thread)
I recieved a letter from Newlyn Debt Collection on 08/10 saying as follows:We are disappointed to note that upon checking out records you have failed to contact our office and arrange payment of your outstanding debt.
As a company of bailiffs we are undertaking to gain payment in full of the debt.
We would like to provide you with a final opportunity to pay the debt....
Interestingly, in the letter I recieved today, it was phrased as 'The County Court Judgement (CCJ) may then be enforced by a court appointed bailiff which will incur substantial costs.'
I am holding my nerve and just ignoring everything so far.
I have lost the actual ticket so I can't check what it actually says, but I was parked in a railway station car park and fined by NCP, who have passed it on to Newlyn. I got the ticket for overstaying the time allotted, even though I was in London overnight and couldn't specifically pay a ticket to last until the next day (a Sunday). There was no payments specified for this on their pay and display board. I'm assuming I'm in the right here?
All advice and reassurance appreciated!0
