Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but I couldn't find anywhere more appropriate.

I often type into google when looking for recipe inspiration, but usually only search the main ingredient, for example chicken thighs. The problem is 95 % of the recipes that come up usually have an important ingredient or ingredients that I do not have in. Does anyone know a recipe website where you can actually type in a list of ingredients I have to hand (meat, veg, spices etc) and it will give recipes of what I could cook with those ingredients? I usually just knock something together myself, but I always play safe and end up with a pretty bland meal and a load of unused ingredients left in the fridge or cupboard, because I'm not confident or experienced enough in the kitchen to always know what goes with what.

    Thanks for any pointers.

  • This is quite good..... http://www.supercook.com/

You pop in the ingredients into the search and look out for the box below which says "have u got" .... very helpful :o)
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

Found this is handy, just type in what ingredients you have and it gives you recipes.

  • Cooking by numbers is very popular :) As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add this to the existing thread, which contains links to other sites, too.

  • Hi everyone,
Probably in the wrong place so apologise for that!
I am hoping someone could help me.:)
I am looking for a site/forum where I can put in some food ingredients that I have and I then get suitable recipes.

Found it the other day but have no idea where I was!

    Many thanks
  • Try cooking by numbers :)

    Hiya :)

I don't think cooking by numbers works any more.

  • I normally have a look at http://www.lovefoodhatewaste.com although the website was down when I checked tonight - hope that this is a temporary glitch
