I've run out of recipes I want to cook! I know this is an odd thing to say when I have the vast internet to find recipes on but that oddly is too much effort. By that I mean, unless I know what I want to look for I get a bit frustrated. Does anyone else have this problem with recipes?
For instance I've got a bit packet of mince and a big bag of white potatoes and sweet potatoes. But I have no idea what to cook with them. I could do bolognese but I am sick to death of it. I do have some recipe books but to be honest, Nigellissima is just a book full of Nigela pouting and gushing over her green pasta.
I just feel like I am stuck in a rut, I've bought a few books of amazon that were recommended on here feed the family for a fiver sort of thing.
I think one of the reasons I am finding it frustrating is that shortly OH and I will be moving in together so I will be going from cooking for 3 maybe 3 nights a week to cooking for 3 every day. So for the past 18 months I have been able to get away with batch cooking DS's food and storing it in one drawer and then having bits and bobs ie pizzas in another drawer for when OH is with me. Now we see him a bit more often and I am struggling to keep my food spending down because I either run out of inspiration for cooking so buy crap or I get rather inspired but then his shift changes so I end up throwing food out. I'm now at the point where I have cupboards rammed full of things like lentils, cans of tomatos all the staples. I also have a small chest freezer full of frozen cheese and a great big ruddy turkey!!!!!
WHY CAN'T I FIND ANYTHING TO COOK? What is wrong with me?? I've got at LEAST 600 quids worth of food in the house!
I'm having a food meltdown.Money money money.

Perhaps this website will be of use to you....you just 'add' the ingredients you have in the little box on the website and when you have added a few it comes up with different meal ideas. If you have £600 of ingredients, i'm sure you have the making of masses of meals.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Wow - thanks katholicos - I've never seen this before and just had a play about with it and found a lot of inspiration for this week just by keying in "pork chops".

One I've found really addicting lately is Pinterest! It's not solely a recipe site but the Food & Drink section is mostly pinned recipes. You see a little thumbnail photo and can then click through the pin to find the recipe for most of it. Found some great inspiration, e.g. pulled pork (OH definately approves - and he's more of a chicken/beef man usually), orange chicken, etc.0
