Have a look here at Tom' Hardware UK - https://www.tomshardware.co.uk/index.html
A good search here will not be time wasted0 -
for gaming you need a really good motherboard you want SATA hdd's at least 2 hdd's running raid, want at least a dual core processor 2ghz with minimum of 1gb RAM using dual memory slots allowing for much better speed on your RAM.
very hard to make a good gaming computer, I recommend you do a lot of research on itespecially overclocking

i would say the Asus Commando or Asus P5N32-SLI Premium/WiFi-AP both under £200 or Asus Striker Extreme if you have lotts of money and 2GB of good OCZ or Corsair ram and a Zalman cpu fan and do not forget the psu something like the 620W Corsair CMPSU-620HXUKthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0

From the responses it appears some of you may have misunderstood. I don't think mulldoonuk is after the best gaming machine out there. In this related thread we've advised mulldoonuk that the Maxdata E6300 PC (with one of the motherboards in question - see below) could be improved gaming-wise if an adequate PCI-E graphics card is installed to replace the integrated one. We've also suggested some GPUs for mulldoonuk's budget & the system's PSU.
The ASUS P5VDC-TVM is in a readymade Maxdata Intel Core2Duo PC with 1Gb RAM & a SATA drive: Maxdata Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (that mulldoonuk earlier sought advice about)
While the Asus M2V-MX is an AMD AM2 board: click here
mulldoonuk, in gaming the above motherboards don't play an important role when compared to the other components, so there's no real point in comparing them for this purpose. If you think the AMD/Asus M2V-MX system you found (I'm assuming) has a much better overall spec than the Maxdata Intel/ASUS P5VDC-TVM one, then post it here for us to have a look at. G0 -

seeing as how you can get memory in 2gb flavours I don't see the necessity for 4 memory slots, infact alot of the time if you use all 4 slots on a motherboard it can be a bit temperamental and not allow you to run the memory in dual channel etc.
As for the computer itself I think you would def be better off with the E6300 and if you can afford the extra 2gb of ram instead of 1gb.
Oh and don't pay £20 for someone to fit a graphics card - thats stupid for what is less than a 5 min job that even a trained chimp could do. And do you really need a kvm switch? And who is trying to charge £15 for a crossover cable ? Depending on length you can get these for as little as 99p or a 20m one here for £7.79 incl postage
