Yes that's not bad, but when you add the OS, etc it doesn't look that good compared to the Maxdata (it does look better than the Eclipse one though). I think the E6300 has a slight edge over the 4600+ especially in gaming.mulldoonuk wrote: »Anyway....GG...what do you think of this? ...

Better than the Maxdata??...
As Blacksheep1979 says, another Gb of RAM will be a nice boost, but hold off for the time being if you can't afford it. Note that if you were to do this, you'll probably need to get 2x512Mb modules (this is going by the info provided by one of the reviewers quoting Maxdata support concerning this).
Quite right! And you can add an inexpensive crossover cable of desired length to your eBuyer order for no additional delivery charge.Blacksheep1979 wrote:Oh and don't pay £20 for someone to fit a graphics card - thats stupid for what is less than a 5 min job that even a trained chimp could do. And do you really need a kvm switch? And who is trying to charge £15 for a crossover cable ? Depending on length you can get these for as little as 99p or a 20m one here for £7.79 incl postage
No, I don't think that's true - I've not come across that before. In fact I'm using 3 of 4 slots on my motherboard, & the 1x1Gb & 2x256Mb modules (none are matched/same brand) still runs in dual-channel. It probably depends on the make/model of motherboard too - but most (if not all) with 4 slots will happily run (& is usually recommended) 2x2 matched modules in dual-channel mode.Blacksheep1979 wrote:infact alot of the time if you use all 4 slots on a motherboard it can be a bit temperamental and not allow you to run the memory in dual channel etc.
My pleasure. I wish you a Happy Easter toomulldoonuk wrote:BTW... thank's for your help and advice..its very much appreciated...Have a Happy Easter!

P.S. As an example, I've compiled a custom-built PC to show that putting together your own PC with similar parts to the Maxdata E6300 - including double the memory - would've been about the same price. No warranty though, except those of the individual components (all prices rounded-off). Maybe something you can think of doing the next time you need to buy a PC?! If it seems too daunting, get a knowlegdeable mate to do it.
1. EYE-T Black X-Blade Case with 450W PSU: £32
2. Intel Core 2 Duo E6300: £107
3. ECS P4M890T-M Socket 775: £32
4. Corsair 2GB (2x1Gb) PC4200 533 MHz: £74 (double the amount & most probably better quality)
5. Maxtor STM3250820AS 250GB SATAII: £39
6. Sony AW-G170AB2 18xDVD±RW/RAM drive: £19
7. Vista Home Premium OEM: £71
8. Internal card reader: £8
9. MultiMedia Keyboard & Optical Mouse: £8
This PC = £390 + Innovision 7600GT 256Mb with Zalman cooler @£82 = £472
The Maxdata E6300 PC = £390 + 7600GT @£82 = £4720
