Help backed into 50cc
Just come out of the hairdressers in happy mood. Gets into car parked on edge of double yellows I reverse into a 50cc l plated motorbike. I have a people carrier so could not see this small vehicle and crush the front part of his/her bike. They are on the double yellows. I take picture with my mobile ( did not come out) and leave my number. Any advice pease should I have called police. Bit stressed out know they were on clearly on double yellows lines. I could not see the bike from my mirror will I be liable.

Yes you'd be liable and the double yellows are irrelevant.
What would you be thinking now if it was a pedestrian ?0 -
Then maybe you should change your vehicle or learn to drive this one properly. If you can't see where you're going then don't proceed!Just come out of the hairdressers in happy mood. Oh, and yes you're entirely liable.0 -
Since you didn't exchange details with the other party at the time, You MUST contact the police straight away and report the accident.
Failing to do report an accident as soon as practicable is an offence.
There is NO 24 hour grace period like some people think.
Let your insurers argue about who's liable (probably you, with the information given; sorry)We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

I did leave my contact details with the other party va a piece of paper is that sufficient tucked into their bike0

irrelevant to the double yellows and the bike being parked there that is a civil matter that council can take up with the rider.
i woundering how someone doesnt notice something at the rear of their vehicle when approaching it?
i'm affraid liability would most likely fall to you so expect your premiums to rise and the rider try and attempt to recover the increase in premiums he suffers aswell as a result of your negligance from you too.0 -
