Being sarcastic I think. You have done the right thing....most people would just drive away after writing on the piece of paper:

"sorry I hit your bike but I am writing this so people around me think I have left my details for you to claim on my insurance....hahahaha"

What would you be thinking now if it was a pedestrian ?
If it was only a small pedestrian then maybe she would be thinking 'I could not see the child from my mirror, will I be liable'.

Well to be fair both are going to cost up money.

You can't compare the two at all, different departments will deal with them but I agree with your sentiment.

Maybe you'll drive a bit more carefully now? Glad you did the right thing with police and details.

Quite right to keep things in perspective.

When a lady drove into the back of my car (~5mph), it was her first accident and she was almost in tears. I had her take several deep breaths and re-assured her it was just a couple of lumps of metal - and to remember that neither she nor I were hurt (and not my dog in the boot of my estate).

What if, instead of the moped, there had been a child playing behind your car?

Or two children. With a puppy. Like the one from the Andrex ad.
