Making christmas decorations?

Inspired by this thread I spent an hour this afternoon making this year's craft decs, from vintage ribbon wrapped around old wooden cotton reels, hung by gold thread and secured underneath with a vintage button. They will look exceedingly pretty on the trees of my family and friends (if we visit people at Xmas time we sometimes sneak a HM decoration onto their tree without them knowing
) and I've been meaning to do them for ages. Thank you for the kick up the pants! They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

Just read the instructions for this, amazing!
I could actually make these, just need a little time and a steady hand
by the time you've rattled off a few, you won't even need to look at what you're doing
sometimes it's useful to use paperclips to hold the folds in place after glueing (sp?) if you've got glue that's taking it's time to stick.
don't forget you can also add glitter dots, stars, snowflakes, whatever to already bought plain baubles

There are also lots of christmas decoration ideas on the Hobbycraft website.

Hobbycraft, why didn't I think of that!!
Love these - http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/Pages/Ideas/Idea.aspx?id=1366
Next door have a crab apple tree so I can use some of them, and the woman at the end has red berries growing. Might look at doing them as tree decorations rather than napkin things.
:TCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
Last year I bought a load of cheap plain baubles and used glitter pens to put peoples names on them and make patterns.
They looked very pretty and I was able to pop some in peoples stockings so they can go on their own treees this year

Pinecone elves! Very cute and very easy to make.
Christmas themed bunting.
Decoupage some of the ready to go shapes you can buy at hobbycraft/online.
Felt lollipops - cut two circles of felt, a little strip of felt in a contrasting colour, sew onto the circle as the swirl, sew circles together, leave opening for a bit of dowelling, tie some ribbon to dowelling, place in a little glass jar/bottle.
Fill jars with festive coloured origami stars, there are lots of tutorials for them online.
Pipe cleaner candy canes gathered in a vase would look nice too.
Lollipop stick snowflakes, again tutorials online for these and plenty of paper snowflake patterns.Riding on the cycling road

When I was a child we used to buy the polystyrene balls, get loads of multi colour sequins and pin them onto the balls through the hole in the middle of the sequin.
Looked really effective on the tree with the fairy lights... Like lots of mini disco balls :-):j Debt free as of 04/10/2012! :j:xmassmile [STRIKE]Saving[/STRIKE] Spending for Christmas! :xmassmile0
