  • It could also only be a temp measure until they fix the cross department stuff. If they dont then even though their T&C say fairly I agree and I think Mr T etc could have a field day.

Might be interesting to see if it is just vs Multibuys OR if they do have a exclude list... could quite easily copy Henlans list for example and exclude certain products on certain supermarkets...

Another thought it might be interesting to see any NEW multibuys at Mr T for example and how they compare... isn't there change days Tuesday night (or has that changed)

Could they have some kind of software that could target W say specifically for multibuys that could make each item come up N/A?

I've impressed myself by talking sense over something IT - well it does to me anyway:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yep, coders would just write a query and reference a supermarket and an additional multibuy.

It might be as simple as adding a multibuy table in their database and tagging items as multibuys when on offer. Thus when you input your receipt and it matches against the product is recognises that it is a multibuy at Mr W for example and gives a N/A whereas it's not at Mr T so returns the correct price.

IF (and it is an IF) then this is certainly misleading. The main glitches aren't caused by products on a single multi-buy really but "trigger" prodicts from different departments (i.e. Rice) causing a huge indifference in price.

In theory things like OEP should still work as they are all the same department and should in my opinion fall fairly as a price comparison. If this is NOT the case (and it doesnt seem like it is) then I agree their 10% price promise is misleading and I'm sure the Grocer / other publication may well pick up on this as I'm sure they read this thread now.

I've used my Bodyshop Wise Woman moisturiser this morning....so what I am about to suggest is bound to be correct ;)

I think A's are sorting the glitch out at the moment by not comparing multibuys.

I can't see that this will stay in place though, as T's and S's systems both accept them.

Once A's have rejigged their APG I would expect them to compare fairly once more against their competitors.

I'm eternally grateful for the glitch and will be doing the bulk of my shopping in asda from now on. The prices are lower, the staff are much nicer and it's more convenient for me. :)
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.
