Do you spend more on Birthdays or Christmas?

LOVE this post!Christmas vote here (but in all honesty probably not by much).
I love everything about Christmas, bah humbug to those who say they ignore it
However, I only buy for my immediate family and I do go a little crazy but I am in a Christmas Club at work so do save all year for it.
For close friends only (I can count them on one hand and still have spare...), I put together hampers from things I have picked up over the year so I don't notice the cost so much. This year it's a gardening theme (sshh, don't tell them!)
Only 84 days to go!! :j

I pretty much agree with your post fawd, except for the last four words. There is nothing 'intelligent' about a poster who systematically posts inflammatory and offensive comments to provoke and stir as the poster in question often does.
Unfortunately she is out of her depth here and has gone too far this time (as the reaction to her comments prove,) and the comments were extremely offensive and probably even breaking some law. As I said, people saying stuff like this about Muslims/Islam, have caused riots before now and in my workplace have resulted in people being fired from their job.
How dare people think they can abuse Christianity in this manner?! Utterly disgraceful. Some people need to read through their posts before they click the 'submit' key.
As you say this isn't the first time they've been extremely confrontational.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I agree.. what a horrible thing to say. Basically this is totally mocking peoples religious beliefs. Totally unacceptable IMO. You would definitely get into serious trouble if you were so offensive towards other cultures and religions (Islam for example,), so why do *some* people think it's OK to be so offensive and rude towards Christians/Christianity?
This is their opinion, nothing more nothing less, and as you are fond to point out people are entitled to view their opinions whether they are right or not.:pB&SC No. 298

we spend about the same on the kids at birthdays and christmas (although this year I've become very mse and trying to get as many bargains as possible!), but its more about finding the right present for the person rather than the actual cost of it
If it makes you feel better Mildred we didnt get a welcome to the world card from fil for either of our kids, and I dont think he's bothered to acknowledge either of their birthdays (or dhs) until we done it back to him and he changed his tune. Its not down to us not being religious, its down to fil being a d***!0 -

I've looked again and I see what you're saying. Just noticed my name and came to a conclusion.
