I reckon that has been caused by a handlebar end (rubber grip) on a kid's bike, as they ride along the pavement. They lose concentration and then fall against the vehicle. A baseball bat would cause a larger "softer" dent. I used to spray cars, and do the odd vehicle repair for friends, and this is quite common with all the little brats who ride on pavements.

Bike handlebar, someone cycling past has fallen onto it.

Sorry Mikey, didn't read the whole thread before posting:o
  • UPDATE: I got my car back this morning for anyone who is interested......

The car now looks perfect! you wouldn't be able to tell there was any damage at all! he didn't get to keep it as long as he wanted, as I was rushing him because I am going away this weekend and using the car, so he said the paint might still be a bit "soft" and liable to pick up damage as I am driving, he has told me to come back in a couple of weeks so he can spend another half an hour just finishing it off, which is fair enough.

The final cost in the end was £100, and he also sorted a few minor niggles for free that I had as well, which was the bumper not sitting flush and always popping out slightly, and buffing up a dull patch on the boot.

So alls well that ends well in the end! it's still £100 I could have better spend, but he has done a brilliant job, for a very good price, and been helpful as well.
