  • Good morning :)

Not a good start to the day or October as my car would not start this morning, called AA and they started it but it needs a new battery and they offered me one for £106.99. I said no and checked Halfords and they wanted more so have just done some online research and found an identical battery from an independent local retailer for £65. Great saving but still £65 we have to find from somewhere. I can feel a search for great cheap recipes coming on and the store cupboard has plenty of rice, pasta, beans and pulses.

Today we will be eating chilli cooked yesterday and the remainder has been frozen into individual portions. The pulled pork is in its brining solution and will be cooked on a slow cooker setting in the oven overnight.

I need to post parcels for ebay and Amazon sales today and I need to buy ingredients to make coleslaw - lots of cabbage and carrots which are very cheap at the moment. I have vouchers to use for shopping and will buy some small Christmas stocking fillers and other Christmas goodies to make up the amount.

Too wet for outdoor drying so am saving the laundry for another day, the tumble drier has a new red sign stating "For emergency use only", though it does stop me from having to iron my work clothes so a quick cool 10 minute cycle after line drying is allowed.

I hope everyone has a super day :)

Morning all, my the weeks are flying by now.
Wet underfoot , looks like more is on its way so no washing out here today. Will put it on the airers.

Not feeling to great today. Ear is playing up and my eye is very tender again:mad:.

Ds3 has saved up just under £3,000 for a car since he passed his test back in July so he will start serious looking now. He has his eye on a Corsa that is for sale just up the road from us. £900 , still has just under a year mot and 7 months tax , my brother and his friend who is a mechanic is going to have a look at it tonight with him , just to check that it is ok and no major issues with it. So fingers crossed he will have his car within the next few days.

Have a chicken in the sc as I type as didnt manage to get round to doing a roast yesterday as slept till just gone 12:o:o. Must have needed it.

Usual stuff to do today, so will love you and leave you all. Hope you are all well and have great weeks.:)
Paul Walker , in my dreams;)

    Morning all,

Nmlc you can moan all you want i can add a few moans myself.

The weekend was awful, busy and stressed. Hubby doesnt like my hair (cant say i'm fussed either but at least its all one colour (grey). I have never ever had hair this short and i dont intend to keep it at this length either. Firstly he doesnt like the cut, he doesnt like the colour and now he thinks i might as well give up on makeup as it doesnt look right with grey hair..... anyone got a bag they can lend me? I took loads of photos on my phone with makeup on Saturday and Sunday and i dont look that bad (i think). Sister in law likes it and her husband still put his arms round me and said 'hello gorgous' like he usually does so it cant be that bad. I recon by christmas it will be shoulder length (i hope).

Ive booked my sons eye test for next Sunday. I am really stressing about it and want to get it over.

Got the runaround from some ejits on Ebay yesterday. Not sure how i'm going to handle it yet.

Hope you have a good day all and hoping i will have one too.

Wet and dismal here as well.
Had a lovely meal at a local Italian restaurant, the food was lovely and the service was second to none :D
Trouble is I woke up in a real downer mood, I think that it is just coming down from the celebrations.

No plans for today so I will just have a potter about

Nmlc I'd be telling hubby that anything to do with the caravan stuff, including anything on the computer, he'll simply have to do himself - after all, you simply don't have the time to spare do you?;)

Judi Sounds to me like your hubby is throwing his toys out of the cot re your hair/makeup! Has he got the hump because you've decided not to colour any more? That could explain the remark about the make-up. Take no notice.;)

Do you like - or can you face liver or kidneys? Remember adding tomatoes when cooking meat helps absorb the iron better. I get as much stuff that is yellow stickered as I can and slam it in freezer. Get a real kick out of producing a meal that we all enjoy for about half the price as I feel I am playing big business at their own game.

DH wants lunch so will be back later.

    Hug to all

Your right, i think part of it is probably shock but he should have seen it coming as ive been trying to strip the colour out for weeks (rather unsucessfully).

I stopped going to the hairdressers to have my cut and colour 12 months ago this month. Up to recently ive been slapping on a semi perminent hair colour every 5 or 6 weeks or so but unfortunately it made the ends so much darker than the roots and the grey was getting harder to cover. Next step would have been a perminent hair colour which i really dont want to do.

Judi, Have you time / energy to go into a local store & ask for some advice & a make-up session? They will be able to help you with colours to suit your new hair colour, and it will be a bit of an ego-boost too ;)

Blokes never notice things like that - only when it's more radical!

Ive got plenty of time and energy but i know what i like and unfortunately ive never had my makeup done in my nearest Debenhams and been particularly happy with the results.
