Certainly. I wish my son could get one! But single people without children stand no chance.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
they apparently dont divide the rent like we would but they use a multiplier
Both are acceptable methods, neither is right or wrong, the latter is actually slightly more accurate but people more often use the former as it's simpler.0 -
i actually thought the OP was joking - I didn't think that anyone would seriously put that up there & expect people to sympathise!nothing to see here, move along...0

Council tenants don't live in the real world? Council tenants don't work? Council tenants can't sort themselves out?
Whatever.
Not sure where you got your information from but just to correctly inform you, we are council tenants, live in a very real world, we both work full time, and we have sorted ourselves (and our 2 children out) since we have left school and college. Unfortunately, we dont earn great salaries and are unable to afford a mortgage in an area we would like to live in. So we bring our children up on a council estate and put a lot of effort into bringing them up to respect and be grateful for the property and area we live in, (things could be much worse) and hopefully they will never be as judgemental to people and situations, as yourself!!;)0 -
In my reading of the post, Lidlest used question marks and wasn't making statements that the sentences were facts. In fact the opposite, the Lidlest post could be read as wanting to contradict an earlier post which could be read as suggesting those things.0

I live in a council house, both myself and my partner work full time. I wasn't judging if you read my post correctly you will see that I am responding to a quote and am in no way agreeing with the supposition that council tenants do not live in the real world.0 -
