  • I wonder if you can buy white gloss from abroad and have it shipped? There must be a way round this problem, surely?

    Failing buying it from a non-EU country, what would be the best painting method so that your woodwork stays as white as possible for a decent length of time?
    As others have said, use a water based acrylic. Even cellulose based paint is prone to yellowing, and that hasn't escaped the EU's attention either, being high in VOCs. There are non-water based acrylics available, but they're considered to be a professional product and are usually required to be sprayed on.
