Keep going NSK! must be amazing to be close to paying off your student loan! I've still got at least £20k left on mine0
-
Tink - I bet your student loan is for something decent though. I got a 2:2 on a degress that is ultimately useless..but I am not getting to happy until I call them at the end of April for a REAL figure. I don't a;ways trust the online version and they calculate it by tax year.. .we shall see!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Hey Kat.
This may have changed but probably hasn't. When my mums student loan was up they continued taking payments from her until they eventually worked out they owed her several hundred pounds.
Very wise to keep right bang on top of them so that you don't end up using them as a savings account!

Lilt they did exactly the same with my colleague who sits beside me here at work and gets regular MSE / NSK updates whether he likes them or not...:rotfl:.. but you are right. I might call them tomorrow!
And may I ask did you announce your debt freedom on the main thread board?? I think you should!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Pahahaha! Good to know the same old systems still don't work
Your colleague should be grateful for all the NSK updates. Lord knows you've inspired more people to save money than anyone I know!!!
I haven't! I felt a bit silly, like in the grand scheme of things on the DFW board it wasnt enough money to call a debt!!!!

Fair enough I know what you mean but it's still debt that's re-paid!! :T:T
The said colleague has a very expensive car that he has spent around £20,000 on..( including the purchase of said car )... he got caught on a flooded road over the weekend and it looking at a £6k bill for a new engine or a right-off. His insurers are coming to have a look today so he might be right there with me sooner... although fingers crossed they will deal with it all for him... poor boy it's his dream machine!:rotfl:“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Haha thank you! It seemed like a horrific mountain to climb when we first sat down and did the maths on it. Now, including payrise we earn way more than we need and I am looking at having savings for the first time ever!! £902 and counting
Oh my goodness gracious! I I was your colleague I'd e looking at buying something a lot smaller and preferably parking it somewhere flood proof!!! Bet he feels quite sick!

I shall get the low-down from him tomorrow!
Imagine what your savings will be by the end of the year! Ooooooohhhh!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Well I hope for his sake it all gets dealt with swiftly and doesn't cost him anything more than his excess!!
I am thinking without much effort we could make £3000 this year. Anything else would be a bonus really. We are going to have to look at moving in the next 18 months. We are outgrowing our little flat fast and I would like Jellytot to have some outdoor space. Everywhere is so expensive in that respect though & we would be looking at pretty much doubling our rent!

Good Afternoon all... I have been thinking and planning again and have drafted a NEW shiny spreadsheet to deal with the melange of acivity in April. Weep with me if you will! ..
So I have done a few calculations... I just need to get something out of my system....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:..breathe and :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:April is going to be EXPENSIVE!
All totalled - including my holiday for 7 days in Italy, funding and paying for my own birthday party, funding my brothers visit (a one off as he booked a flight to see me pass-out of that organisation I was booted out of) and the house move and cat bits...
Subtracting what I already have set aside, a probable amount returned from the organisation I was booted out of and Amazon book Trade-In (money which is starting to scare me as it hasn't been marked up yet).. the grand total is £2964! :rotfl:...leaving me with a £141 surplus (despite already budgeting a £25 emergency money, £80 food and petrol money I won't use entirely due to being away)....bu still....:rotfl:..it's a horrific amount.
This will all be paid in cash!
BUT... I have many items on eBay with more to add tonight, another buyer coming to pick up and pay on Saturday (only £22 though), 4 more OT shifts at £180 a go this month and £27 still in my purse!!
Oh and I am going to take the train for the rest of the month as the bike it starting to make me VERY very tired..
So there you go.
We face unexpected mountain - we climb over them!!!
Onwards and Upwards!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
