    Sorry, but you are wrong on that one.

    You have forgotten about prepaid cards.

    Not sure on others but... The o2 card is both online and contactless.

    Get a lovely text everytime you purchase something, either contactless or not.

    Contactless can easily be online, just a little slower. Barclaycard pay tag is online as well.

    Offline means it can be used anywhere

    Online means it can not be used on planes, some trains and some card issuers with online cards also block pay at pumps, this is because the bank doesn't trust the card user basically.

    Your debit card is clearly an offline card as it has been used on a plane.
  • Good point dalesrider, my old Orange Cash card was contactless and online. Same with the Barclaycard Payband.
