Sorry, but you are wrong on that one.
You have forgotten about prepaid cards.
Not sure on others but... The o2 card is both online and contactless.
Get a lovely text everytime you purchase something, either contactless or not.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Contactless can easily be online, just a little slower. Barclaycard pay tag is online as well.0

I honestly haven't a clue about all this online / offline malarky.
Me neither! How can you tell which one you have?
I can use pay at pump, buy stuff online, buy tickets from booths and have also used my card on a plane before??
I have a classic LloydsTsb account with green debit card which has a chip in it?
Crikey i have never even considered what is being discussed on here!:silenced:0 -

Offline means it can be used anywhere
Online means it can not be used on planes, some trains and some card issuers with online cards also block pay at pumps, this is because the bank doesn't trust the card user basically.
Your debit card is clearly an offline card as it has been used on a plane.0 -
Good point dalesrider, my old Orange Cash card was contactless and online. Same with the Barclaycard Payband.0
