I indicated slowed down then stopped to reverse into a parking space. Muppet behind proceded to drive up to my rear bumper peeping his horn gesticulating. I ignored him. He then reversed into the car behind.
I drove off and left them to argue who was at fault."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Best to take the NCB hit and learn not to rush around everywhere in future.
Unfortunately, at times there's no option but to rush around.
Being in a hurry last year at some point I pulled out in front of a big red bus in London, only to have the turbo on the car I was driving (Skoda 1.9 with 280k-ish miles and forementioned part knackered) decide to go at the wrong moment. That was also instant karma, and put the company £25k down that week (!)

With the witness there's a possible Section 5 public order offence, not sure if the police would go with this though. Worth a shot...0

Why, if the doors were locked, did your partner panic?
Why should you be more frightened because you're pregnant?
Sadly, this isn't a rare occurrence - I had someone cut me up coming off a main roundabout, the way he drifted over the lanes I wondered if he'd dozed off so I just gave a gentle beep on the horn. He stopped on a dual carriageway to get out and give me what for - I locked the doors and ignored him completely.
The police gave him an official warning (I know, not much) but hopefully he'll think twice in the future. If they find this guy I hope they have a word too!

No option? I think you would find that if you had left earlier (read as taken the option to leave at a time which would have allowed you to reach hour destination without rushing) the big red bus might have been elsewhere and karma would have been at peace.:)0 -

Rubbish and even more so when it involves a vehicle.0 -
Funny thing is, going faster doesn't generally get you there any quicker. Yeah, there's exceptions, but not normally in town.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -

Doesn't work in London.
However what works is realising that there will be traffic and you can't control the amount so not to get stressed about it or pull out on people.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

rushing around is utterly pointless, I had my first accident when I was driving angry and in a rush. I realised that I would not have made that mistake had I been calm and not let anger get the better of me. When you're angry and in a rush you do not think clearly.0 -

eactly, it just get you quicker to the next red traffic light where the car you overtook will slowly join you.. right behind.
I was driving through rotherhithe tunnel in london the other day. it's a really narrow tunnel built in early 1900's, video of it is here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqTUEkju5j0
I hate using this tunnel, but sometimes I'm forced to. there are two big bends in the tunnel which sometimes forces the traffic to crawl down to 10mh, but the general speed limit is 20mph. I've used this tunnel enough to realise that driving slowly is better, even below the speed limit because the two bends will create a traffic jam. So there's no point in driving fast and catching up with the traffic. When you plan it right you can go through it without even having to use the brake pedal just by letting the car slow down gradually before the bends and using some infrequent and gentle gas pedal pressure to maintain the speed/
Anyway today I was watching an idiot continuously hit the gas pedal and then get too close the car in front and hit the brakes. His brake lights must've gone off for at least 15 times on the straights which was pointless. Waste of fuel and kills the brake pads. Not only does it wear them out but it can get them hot which makes them perform poorly when you need to make an emergency stop.
I don't understand why some people think it's important to be right behind the vehicle in front. They dont have enough room to let the car have a smooth ride, and have to hit the brakes all the time. Worse is when you have 4-5 of them one behind the other.0
