I'm single and, after many years, I'll soon be DF myself.0

I love managing my own money, ok so i'm not in the best of situations but at least I know me and what i'm capable of and what I am up against. It might be lonely at times but I just can't ever imagine throwing another person into the mix financially. Probably best i'm single lol :rotfl:Littlewoods £10 Very BNPL £234.42

I'm single too! I think it can be a bit lonely at times, because socializing is always the first thing to take a hit when you're cutting back. But on the other hand, it is nice to have total control of the finances.
If we were 'singletons against debt' though, we'd be SAD....."Most of the people ... were unhappy... Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy." -- Douglas Adams0 -
Hey there.
First of all congratulations; you're taking the first steps to get debt free.
Secondly, you have chosen one of the best places to get support from on this forum. Whether it be 1am or 1pm, someone will reply if you need them!

That's the bit I actually like about being single.
Go to bed/get up when I like, eat what I like when I like, listen to whatever radio I like, go on holiday where I like, etc.0 -
Im a singleton too, but with 2 kids and like a few others, my ex is to blame for alot of it, everything was put in my name and he spent it all, but just over 2 years and i have cleared half of it all by myself.PAD Maker0

I am a singleton and new to the site. I have two manageable loans and a few expenditures on a credit card / repayment to the ( very understanding ex ), student loan and a small overdraft... amounting to £16,500. I have a half acre of land in Northern Ireland and a motorbike to show for the money but have set myself the Ultimate Challenge.. I just need to post this on the DFW thread for all to see...
We shall overcome, on our own...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Another singleton here...and an oldie one too.
Hard paying a mortgage on your own and running the house too...rents are more expensive than mortgages here and thats a reason why i wont sell to pay my debts. Hard to initially get on the property ladder..guess i was just lucky.
I got into a lot of debt..unsecured loans and credit card repayments on a monthly basis amounted to more than my mortgage repayments...that was the wake up call i needed. Been on a dmp with CCCS since 2008 and clearing a huge amount of debt...nearly there with it now and can't wait...
Good luck to everyone starting out on debt free journies...Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 20140 -
