Morning all,
After one day of bright sunshine (and only a bit of rain), the sun has now disappeared leaving clouds and more rain. Mr Badger has been in my garden again and left holes in the lawn. Ive noticed the bird feeders need topping up too. I’ll do that later.
Plans for today, well the ritualistic vacuuming and dusting throughout and of course the kitchen floor. Only got as far as trimming one dog yesterday (the other hid) so I’ll get her trimmed today too. The bathroom needs a quick wipe over but I think that’s my lot for today.
I am debating whether to cook hubby a pork chop for tea or whether to use the steak I want to use up out of the freezer. Pork is hubbys favourite but I really want to use the steak. Hmm…. We’ll see.
Dogs got me up twice in the night but I’ll forgive them. The one dog has a puffy eye and I’m bathing it with salt water at the moment but I’ll see how she is in the morning and see about taking her to the vet.Tea tonight at my brothers roast lamb dinner, yumm.
Julie67 i'll swap my pork for your lamb anytime. I love lamb.
Hugs offered, whether needed or not they are free….. How money saving is that?

Good Morning All
Been MIA last few days as just been doing so much running around and having rubbish nights sleep so just been too tiredhad a relly good nights sleep last night and now feeling energetic which is darn lucky as there is soooo much to do.
Today is DS' 14 birthday, so made him breakfast and dropped him into school via Asda so he could buy Fifa 13. Now home and done some essential banking so going to attack the house, it really is quite dismal . Have no ironing :j but that is because no washing has been done!
Tonight DD is at work so going to go out tomorrow for DS birthday meal, he wants to go and hang out with his friends so that is fine. Only OH & myself to cook for - not sure what it will be yet.
Sooo best put the kettle on make a strong coffee and start the housework - think will begin in the kitchen.
Hope everyone is ok, (((hugs))) wherever needed & Happy Friday to you all.x0 -

yes Bitsy -thanks but its usually the first thing I do. I've inhaled steam on its own and with olbas oil in it, am taking decongestants, using a spray and am on my last day of antibiotics. I've been really fed up with it - the actual cold is long gone. Anyway I read on the NHS website that the average for sinusitis to take to clear up is 2 and a half weeks so fingers crossed it ought to clear up soon!:)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi everyone.
Oh my, I have had trouble keeping up with the Daily the last few days; finally gave up so a general pile of (((HUGS))) on the table in a neat pile, help yourselves if you need/want one.:o
I fear I'm in yet another wretched lupus flare; my energy levels aren't just at rock bottom, they're tunnelling; and I have a mouth full of the most horrendous ulcers - it's taking me best part of an hour just to eat a sandwich, it's so painful.:(
I've spent most of this morning out in the park with my new boyfriend - he's very young, very small-built, his ancestors come from "oop North", and he has sooooo much energy it's unreal! His name's Dave, and it really was love at first sight.:happyhear And now I've got you all wondering what's going on, I'll tell you the rest - he's a two-year-old Yorkshire Terrier.:rotfl:He's my latest guest, arrived yesterday and is staying til next Friday.:ohe'll have the steak, he aint home till tonight and ive already been yelled at :mad:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Judi if mine yelled at me like that, he'd be lucky if he even got bread'n'scrape for dins!
Dont worry, he got as much in return as he dished out except that by tonight it will all be forgotten (by him) but not so by me... hence the steak.;)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning all - I have arisen from the pit. I'm waiting for sister and BIL to turn up to take away my weights bench and Olympic weights as I'll not be able to use them again. My incision is definitely infected (from where they removed some of the staples, apparently, and not helped by my wonky thyroid) and I'm on antibiotics now, but I've been cleared by the neurosurgeon to return to work next Tuesday so I'm happy about that
Went on a pricing spree in Costco last night, and they're more expensive on pretty much everything than the supermarkets. Their cheapest instant coffee is 3x the price per kilo of Tesco's 500g tins, which is the lowest on MySupermarket. Will use them for catfood and crisps only from now on; the savings still justify the membership fee. Of the 11 meat items I priced up, Tesco are currently coming out best on 6 of them. A monthly shop is probably a thing of the past now; I'll shop weekly according to what's on offer and with reference to my 'usual' spreadsheet which I'll update and keep in my bag, and won't bother restocking the freezer on 'automatic' buys.
I just found a pair of clean knickers in the laundry that aren't mine! I can only assume a house-guest left them at some point over the last 12 years, and they've been lurking in the linen chest which I cleared out last weekend. They're not DH's as they're not his sizeI'm wearing them although they're too big and not my style ... finders keepers ...
Lazy day planned as I don't feel wonderful - may shuffle some paperwork around and pretend I'm sorting it out. DH is out till late tonight so only myself and the beasts to feed."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000 -
Afternoon all
Bitsy - congrats to OH!!! Bath is beautiful, I'm sure you will love it there
Tappers - ouch sinusitus is horrid
EG - happy birthday to DS
LW - hope you feel better soon
Well I'm back from my work residential trip. And gotta say the kids were brilliant. I'm really liking my new group. We did have one dramatic moment though, one of the kids is epileptic and he had a seizure Thurs morning about 7am  luckily we had warned the boys in his room what may happen, and told them to come get me or my colleague asap if he fitted. They did just that and by the time I got up to the room my colleague was looking after him. But he had banged his head and opened a cut he already had so there was blood everywhere . So I called an ambulance as he was still fitting too. He was taken to hospital by 8am. He is fine now, needs his meds adjusting. One of the boys who found him was in shock so I had to sort him out whilst my colleague went to hospital. But other than that it was a fab week
I came home with some free food too- half block of cheese, carton of sour cream, half bag of oats, cuc, lettuce, toms, celery, carton of custard, half loaf of bread, 7 tortillas, teabags, 3 onions and a baf of pears . So no shopping needed for me for few days!
I'm going out tonight for bite to eat with my old and new bosses, be nice to catch up with my old boss as not seen her in awhile. I'm just going to chill out the rest of the afternoon.
OS wise - bags unpacked, free food put away, dishes to wash.
Have a good day all
